It attaches great emphasis to the professional, personal, and intellectual development of faculty and students, so that its graduates become contributory members and leaders of society.The programmes offered by the Medical College are tailored to international standards in curriculum, student engagement and assessment, and aim to develop clinical competence in community settings and hospitals, as well as the assessment of health and prevention of disease in communities through primary health-care programmes.ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible to demonstrate a goal oriented, solution-based approach and work to enhance the Elective experience for students by linking AKU with other institutes around the world, assist in the office operational work.You will be responsible to:

  • address questions and concerns students may have regarding electives
  • assist with the management of the electives electronic portal, including collection and compilation of electives feedback forms
  • assist Faculty in the process of formalizing affiliations (in coordination with the legal office)
  • disseminate of electives-related updates to the student body, faculty, and alumni
  • supervise the coordinator in ensuring all the meetings are conducted in a timely manner
  • facilitate the process of merit-based scholarships for electives recently announced by the Dean?s office
  • maintain record of documentation of official meetings between faculty and students
  • work with the faculty to keep record of various ?sub-specialty champions? and connect or direct students to those champions for advice.
  • liaison with US institutions via AKUAANA for necessary documentation
  • use the AKDN network for electives focusing on volunteer work opportunities
manage the assigned special committees to assist the office of UGMERequirementsYou should have:
  • a postgraduate degree, preferably Masters in Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent
  • a minimum of four years? experience in coordinating and performing various administrative tasks in an academic setting, preferably in undergraduate medical education curriculum
  • experience of career counselling and electives in a medical institute
  • experience in writing reports, proposals and concept notes
  • experience of conducting presentations for large audiences
  • ability to work independently with little supervision in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
  • strong interpersonal skills to effectively coordinate and interact with diverse groups of people
  • understanding of academic and health related issues.
  • strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills both in English and Urdu
  • excellent computer skills and proficiency in the use of MS Office
  • problem solving and decision making skills
  • ability to understand student needs and interact effectively with them.
