Job Description

IntroductionThe Aga Khan University?s Institute for Global Health and Development (IGHD) was established in the year 2020 to serve as a University-wide entity for providing a unique platform for facilitating strategic engagements and partnerships between AKU, University of Central Asia and the wider Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN). IGHD aims to address global health and environmental challenges by creating a multi-disciplinary support system and infrastructure, whereby researchers across campuses and regions can collaborate and contribute.The IGHD works across four thematic areas, including Sustainable Development Goals (including Broad Social Determinants of Health); Gender Equity and Empowerment; Climate Change, Urban Development, and Health, and; Agriculture, Food Security, and Nutrition.ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible to supervise project activities related to field and data management to ensure quality control, while maintaining good working relationship with staff, community and various stakeholders involved. Specific responsibilities will be to:

• design, develop and manage temporary office, warehouse & kitchen of the project as per requirement
• identify design, develop and manage the spaces of food consumption of the participants
• identify and manage the local vendors for supply of raw food items required for project
• identify the Procurement of equipment, supplies, utensils and other materials required for food preparation and consumption of participants
• facilitates problem solving by actively communicating with project lead, admin, supply chain, procurement and finance departments and other support functions of organization.
• track and record key inward and outward supplies and food production metrics.
• track, report and manage existing inventory.
• follow and maintain production standards for the food production teams.
• root cause investigation of incidents where teams deviate from protocol and recommend corrective actions.
• identify and flag quality issues that arise from various teams (poor quality produce, out of spec ingredients), report on quality trends and make recommendations
• oversee a team of multiple staff with varying start times.
• provide effective leadership and direction to warehouse, kitchen and food serving staff within the project/organizational policies
• ensure a safe work environment is maintained at all times and employees are following all safety procedures and policies
• maintain compliance with the AKU safety policies
• execute accident investigations in a timely and accurate fashion, and carry out any follow up required as a result of the investigation
• assist the Manager Research in overall implementation of the project.
• ensure that the food is prepared and reaches at serving sites on time and all the consumption (volume) is properly recorded for each participant on daily basis
• communicate all pertinent information concerning production, problems and related action plans with all relevant stakeholders/departments
• resolve problems by analysing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action
• oversee and ensure proper cleaning and sanitation procedures for machines, equipment, and general production facility are adhered to
• perform product quality inspections & measurements to ensure standards are met or exceeded

• a Master?s degree in Social Sciences/Management or any other related field
• at least five years of relevant experience preferably in field setting
• excellent logistic & supply chain management skills, including ability to lead teams and manage resources effectively
• good computer literacy excellent command over Microsoft Excel and android based data entry apps
• excellent communication skills
• ability to handle office correspondence independently
• good command over written and spoken English, Urdu and preferably Sindhi language
• a thorough understanding of administrative processes and ability to liaise with other offices at the university
• a retired personal of armed forces (having experience of logistic management) will be given preference
• willingness for extensive travelling to various field sites for monitoring and supervision
