Its teaching hospital, the Aga Khan University Hospital is accredited by the prestigious Joint Commission International for achieving the highest international healthcare standards.Responsibilities The candidate is responsible for assisting in designing and developing clinical data warehouse, disease registries and developing and maintaining scalable data pipelines. Ensuring data quality and integrity, optimizing data processes and systems for performance and scalability, and collaborating with other teams/data scientists to understand data needs and implement solutions.Specific responsibilities include:

• designing and implementing data models that support the data warehousing and data pipeline needs. This may involve creating dimensional models that reflect the organizations data requirements.
• extracting, transforming, and loading data from various sources into the clinical data warehouse.
• data pipeline development: Designing and implementing data pipelines that move data from various sources through various stages of the data pipeline. This may involve using tools such as Apache Kafka, Apache NiFi, or Apache Airflow to develop and maintain data pipelines.
• ensuring that the data in the data warehouse is accurate, complete, and consistent. This may involve validating data as it enters the warehouse, monitoring data quality, and implementing data quality checks and controls.
• collect, manipulate, pre-process and analyse complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources and present insights using different visualization tools.
• develop dashboards that provide reliable insights and visualization.
• collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, clinical leads, researchers, and technical teams to ensure smooth running of projects? activities within the settings.
• collaborating with data scientists and analysts to support their work.
• responsible for technical documentation. Documenting the data pipeline, data warehouse schema, and any other relevant information that will be needed by others in the future.
• provide assistance in the preparation of periodic research and progress reports
• any other task assigned by the supervisor.

• Bachelor?s in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field from a reputable institution
• 2 years of related prior professional experience as data engineer would be preferred - fresh graduates are encouraged to apply

• advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with databases
• experience building and optimizing data pipelines and integrating data sets
• experience of processing and extracting large, disconnected datasets
• skills in data collection, management, transformation, analysis, and interpretation
• proficient with data extraction, transform and load processes
• working knowledge of big data tools: Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc.
• experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools: Airflow, etc.
• experience with Azure cloud services, Data Factory, Synapse
• working knowledge of Business Intelligence and Data warehousing; proficient in creating PowerBI dashboards
• experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment
• excellent problem-solving and analytical skillsa
• excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to present insights to technical and non-technical colleagues.
