Job Description

Urgent requirement for a RedHat Engineer in Qatar on a 1-year contract with extensions for a major IT vendor. Key Responsibilities Install, configure, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers and applications. Perform system monitoring to ensure high availability and optimal performance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement integrated IT solutions. Develop and maintain system documentation, including procedures, configurations, and inventory. Provide technical support and guidance on Linux-related issues to other IT team members. Assist in the design and implementation of system security strategies, including firewall configuration, system hardening, and vulnerability assessments. Work closely with the development team to support and optimize applications running on Linux platforms. Lead and participate in IT projects, including system migrations, upgrades, and expansions. Automate repetitive tasks using scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl. Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices, emerging technologies, and Red Hat updates. Provide mentoring and training to junior team members, helping to develop their skills and knowledgeQualifications and Skills Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 5+ years of experience working with Red Hat Enterprise Linux or similar Linux distributions. Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or similar certification is highly preferred. Strong understanding of RedHat satellite, squid/proxy servers, postfix, and other applications running on Linux platforms Strong understanding of Linux Kernel, network protocols, and system internals. Experience with automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible or Puppet. Proficient in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl. Knowledge of virtualization technologies like VMWare, KVM, or Hyper-V. Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes is a plus. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
