Job Title: Fiber Lead TechnicianLocation: QatarExperience Range: 3 10 yearsDriving License of Qatar will be added advantage.Job Summary: The Fiber Lead Technician will be responsible for overseeing and performing a wide range of tasks related to fiber optic installation, maintenance, and repair in the Middle East region. This role requires strong technical skills, leadership abilities, and a deep understanding of fiber optic networks. The Fiber Lead Technician will work closely with the project team to ensure the successful completion of fiber optic projects while adhering to quality, safety, and timeline requirements. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise a team of fiber technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high-quality work and project success.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute fiber optic installation, termination, splicing, and testing activities.
• Conduct site surveys and assessments to determine project requirements, including the identification of potential risks and challenges.
• Install and troubleshoot fiber optic cables, connectors, and related equipment in accordance with industry standards and project specifications.
• Perform fusion splicing, mechanical splicing, and connectorization of fiber optic cables, ensuring optimal performance and low loss connections.
• Conduct thorough testing and documentation of fiber optic networks using various testing equipment and tools, such as OTDRs, power meters, and light sources.
• Maintain accurate records of project activities, including daily progress reports, as-built documentation, and test results.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as project managers and engineers, to ensure seamless project execution and timely resolution of technical issues.
• Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to fiber optic networks, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Adhere to protocols, guidelines, and regulations to create a safe working environment for the team and minimize the risk of accidents or injuries.
• Manage inventory of fiber optic materials, tools, and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels and proper maintenance.

• Bachelors degree in telecommunications, electrical engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Extensive experience (3+ years) in fiber optic installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting, with a focus on lead or supervisory roles.
• In-depth knowledge of fiber optic technologies, including cable types, connectors, splicing techniques, and testing methodologies.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team towards project objectives.
• Proficiency in using fiber optic testing equipment, such as OTDRs, power meters, and light sources, and interpreting test results.
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, such as ANSI/TIA and ISO/IEC standards.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex fiber optic network issues.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with team members, clients, and other stakeholders.
• Valid drivers license and willingness to travel to project sites within the Middle East region, as required.
