Job Description

The Organization:

  • Our client is the leading Facility Management provider in the Sultanate of Oman.?Over the past four decades they have earned an outstanding reputation with operations across the Sultanate, managing a broad range of facilities, including some of the Sultanate?s most prestigious buildings and technically-complex facilities. They have recently been awarded a project for construction and looking to expand the department.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Our client is looking for QS for Cost planning, estimating and BoQ production for services;
Major Responsibilities:
  • Cost planning, estimating and BoQ production for services;
  • Monthly Application for interim payments;
-Billing- Coordination with site personnel on progress claims; -Update, finalize an prepare billing & invoicing;
  • Maintain Payment register ( Submission, certificate and payment collection;
  • Submit budgetary cost proposal as per client, consultant and main contractor to determine budgetary cost for anticipated for works;
  • Variations- complete variations of all costs including research with site personnel and necessary information retrieval to final closing;
  • Records- Maintain variation register ( submission & approval status);
  • Re-measurement of works ( Budgetary cost, provisional sum, provisional Qty);
  • Stablish new rates for non BOQ items;
  • Detailed re-measurement to back up the initial budgetary cost approved;
  • Re-measurement Exercises, coordinate with site personnel to prepare as built drawings;
  • Damage claims- Coordination with Site personnel to identify damages or contra charges to other contractors and damaged claim submit accordingly with sufficient details to prove the damaged;
  • Should be able to do Rate analysis;
  • Will be handling Final account:
  • Maintain regular updated final account forecast;
  • Keep track of all relevant information related to final account;
  • Re-measurement cost;
  • Variations cost -keep running record file, analyse and update the claims list;
  • Primarily pre-contract / measurement experience;
  • Knowledge of pricing / market rates,
  • Post contract variation evaluation and management;
  • Performing risk and value management and cost control functions;
  • Advising on procurement strategy;
  • Preparing tender and contract documents;
  • Preparing and analyzing costings for tenders, tender negations and recommendation reports;
  • Undertaking costs analysis project work;
  • Identifying, analyzing and developing responses to commercial risks;
  • Providing advice on contractual claims;
  • Writing detailed progress/ cost reports;
  • Interim valuations and payment certificates;
  • Management of bonds, insurances and guarantee logs;
  • Maintaining awareness of the different building contracts in current use;
  • Understanding the implications of health and safety regulations;
  • Reporting to Resident Engineer on all commercial issues;
  • Client facing and leading commercial meetings;
