Job Description

Purpose: To contribute in and oversee the receipt & dispatch, storage, requisitioning and distribution of supplies and materials by coordinating with operators / drivers; and continually ensuring optimum utilization of the resources to reduce lead time in handling movement of goods both inbound and outbound. The Storekeeper will also endeavor to attain maximum safety in operations overcoming and operational hazards.Responsibilities:Strategic? Ensure implementation of established material handling procedures.? Optimum utilization of resources and maximize output.? Follow Inventory control procedures & implement FIFO.? Recognize occupational hazards and implement safety precautions.People? Ensure pooling of resources to improve operating efficiency; Preplan & schedule the loading sequencing.? Follow ethical practices, integrity, and a positive work climate to enable motivate team members & co-workers.Operational? Organize and execute loading & off-loading.? Ensure that the materials are handled & stored with optimum care.? Expedite & improve the lead time for any loading / off-loading.? Work in close liaison with drivers to ensure swift collection and delivery of materials.? Ensure all workers are always wearing appropriate PPE in the yard.? Thoroughly check all incoming materials for Quantity & Quality and report discrepancy.? Ensure proper documentation for materials moving in / out of store.? Strictly follow materials handling & inventory control procedures.? Ensure Daily inspections of equipment?s and report malfunctions or difficulties.? Administer all operators/drivers/helpers and report all matters of importance.Education / Experience & Competencies:? Pre-college / Higher schooling education; ability to read / write English; Basic computer literacy.? Prior experience in similar capacity and role; Minimum 2-3 years.?
