The prime role of a tailor is to measure or to follow a measurement to create a garment. The tailor must also be able to cut patterns of women?s fashion apparel wear.-The tailor must be able to sew garments at highly skilled commercial level-He/she must have worked for a fashion apparel company.? Quality is absolute necessity whilst stitching a garment piece by piece. The Tailor will be stitching sample garments in house.? The tailor will be reporting back to the Pattern Master and liaising with garment technologist for quality assurance.? The tailor must understand different stitching and hemming techniques. He/she must also have a good idea of hand stitching, invisible stitching and different tailoring techniques.? Tailoring techniques, such as a pleating, gathering & neckline stitching.? Is able to create hand and machine embroidery ? Is able to apply other textile techniques such as applique.? Garment tailoring at high level, from unstitched to end outcome.
