Position Summary:Responsible for the 24x7 availability and smooth functioning of several databases serving highly mission-critical Healthcare System that helps to run 250+ paperless health institutions under the Ministry.? Work closely with enterprise, database, and application architects and project managers.? Understand the impact of design decisions on the overall effort.Role Description:Other Responsibilities: Identify the changing Business Drivers to implement technologies of future.? Explore, recommend and implement new technologies and tools to provide a highly-available, scalable, secure and reliable database and application system environment. Ensure the 24x7 availability of the Databases. Device and manage disaster recovery solutions to handle unforseen system crashes to avoid potential impact on business.? Plan, Design, Implement, Tune and Troubleshoot clustered (Active like RAC and Passive) database architectures.? Allocate system storage and plan the future database storage requirements for application systems.? Fine Tune Database, Applications, Network, Memory, IO and Storage.? Tune and optimize Operating Systems for optimal database performance.? Install, Configure and manage Database, Application and Web Servers and Tune and troubleshoot performance and configuration problems.? Device a Backup and Recovery plan and schedule Backups.? Monitor database for potential problems and take immediate corrective steps if necessary.? Recover/Restore database in case of database crashes with a minimum impact on the smooth functioning of the organization.? Write and incorporate database triggers and procedures and packages.? Maintain LDAP and database users, profiles, policies, and resource limits.? Audit Database activities and troubleshoot security issues and protect data confidentiality.? Mentor the application development team in database technology and help them solve critical data design and implementation issues. Work closely with Applications architects to define application design and development requirements.? Evaluate and incorporate new tool, technologies and standards in database and related technology.? Document the database/cluster architectures, designs, configuration, migration and installation plans and procedures, and other technical documentation according to established standards.? Perform code reviews with analysts and Application architects and developers.? Develop performance test plans, design test environments and perform tests.Team Organization:Team Structure: Excellent Team Player, Detail and Deadline Oriented.?
