Commercial Manager

Job Description

1. Lead and manage a team of commercial managers and quantity surveyors to ensure delivery of financial, commercial and contractual obligations associated with the Building Finishes division.2. Ensure implementation of ATE practices and policy associated with financial, commercial and contractual delivery.3. Specifically ensure that monthly financial reporting is undertaken for each project including Cost Value Reports encompassing subcontract and supplier liabilities, accruals, risk and opportunity assessments and the like. Review the CVRs with each project lead for accuracy and robustness and ensure corrective action is put implemented as and when required.4. Ensure cashflow is maintained through timely invoicing, follow-up communications with clients prior to payment dates, and appropriate action when payments are late.5. Develop and mentor the commercial team within the Building Finishes division.6. Management of financial, commercial and contractual aspects of procurement for Building Finishes projects while recognizing opportunities for cost savings. 7. Review of specifications of construction contracts and interpretation of AutoCAD drawings in order to ensure requirements are clearly defined and agreed upon with regards to scope, deliverables, cost and programme. 8. Ensure that all involved stakeholders (internal as well as external) understand contractual obligations and drive adherence to organizational and regulatory guidelines in business activities of the department while also resolving contractual problems/issues/queries through regular communication between ATE and external parties.9. Ensure contractual compliance on Building Finishes projects, with timely deliverables and notices, and ensure appropriate record-keeping and substantiation is maintained to support potential claims and/or disputes.10. Provide expertise/inputs on Requests for Proposals (RFPs)/ Requests for Information (RFI)/ Request for Quotation (RFQ) to support commercial activities for ATE?s Building Finishes projects and ensure inclusion of necessary financial clauses within construction contracts/agreements while safeguarding the organization against commercial risks.11. Participate in tendering activities and coordinate with the concerned parties in tender evaluation on commercial parameters.12. Conduct due diligence for new sub-contractors and service providers according to the defined prequalification criteria, and maintain the list of approved sub-contractors and suppliers that comply with ATE policies and procedures.13. Conduct negotiation of contracts and maintain key relationships with external stakeholders (business partners/suppliers/vendors etc.) in order to fulfil requirements in a timely manner.14. Research potential business prospects and commercial opportunities while working towards the development of new partnerships with external business partners/vendors/ suppliers. 15. Liaise with multiple internal stakeholders (such as Legal, Finance & Accounts, Internal Audit) for approvals of standardized contracts, tenders and other documentation as well as closure on escalated disputes related to Building Finishes contracts. 16. Keep abreast with industry trends, market developments, and regulatory announcements to build awareness and drive necessary changes in line with external changes to support the business requirements.
