SNAP-Ed Senior Nutrition Program Coordinator - Training | |Position DetailsPosition Information Position Type Professional Staff Faculty Track Position Title SNAP-Ed Senior Nutrition Program Coordinator - Training Employment Status Full Time Months 12 Campus Portland, ME Description Responsibilities Coordinate and oversee implementation of the SNAP -Ed work plan in accordance with USDA SNAP -Ed and Maine DHHS guidance. Provide oversight to Nutrition Educators for implementation of nutrition education programs and obesity prevention services in accordance with SNAP -Ed grant requirements. Provide oversight to Nutrition Program Coordinators to ensure consistent management, training, technical assistance and support. Provide technical assistance and training to the Nutrition Educators as well as other state agencies or organizations that provide services to people eligible for SNAP . Act as contract manager to the Nutrition Educators at the sub-recipient agencies, as assigned. Coordinate with statewide State Nutrition Action Council partners to enhance and/or deliver nutrition education programs and obesity prevention services to people eligible for SNAP . Oversee the development of annual, regional and monthly programmatic training meetings for Nutrition Educators, as well as other programmatic training content, as needed. Ensure reporting processes are completed in a timely and accurate manner by the Nutrition Educators in accordance with the SNAP -Ed grant contract. Assure that grant deliverables and expectations are met as set by USDA SNAP -Ed, Maine DHHS and UNE . Assist with development, coordination and delivery of appropriate social marketing strategies to reinforce key messages in accordance with approved USDA SNAP -Ed, Maine DHHS and UNE guidelines. Develop social media messages to distribute through the SNAP -Ed website and Facebook. Assist with monitoring of the Policy, Systems and Environmental (PSE ) change strategies among the Nutrition Educators at the sub-recipient agencies. Participate on SNAP -Ed management team and assist in management decisions related to training. Participate on SNAP -Ed evaluation team as training content expert and support development of evaluation plans. Develop and lead the training content writing for SNAP -Ed monthly, annual, and final reports as well as our plan that is submitted to USDA FNS each September. Completes University new employee orientation and sexual harassment training within 30 days of the date of hire. Understands and complies with the University of New England Safety Manual. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Registered Dietitian (RD) degree and 5 to 7 years of experience with implementation of community health initiatives required or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired. Masters of Public Health degree preferred (in addition to RD) Demonstrate clear and effective communication skills with groups and individuals including verbal, written, and group presentations Valid driver?s license and reliable transportation.
