Job Description

Duties

  • Serves as a Logistics Management Specialist for the 160th Theater Strategic Signal Brigade with responsibility for the planning, support, and implementation of a broad range of programs dealing with all logistics matters.
  • Provides policy and guidance based on existing Dept. of Defense (DOD)/Dept. of Army (DA) regulations and Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM) supplements, regulations, policies, and procedures on all logistical matters.
  • Assigns work to employees based on selective considerations of such factors as the difficulty and requirements of assignments; availability, capability, and special qualifications of employees; and workload.
  • Develops and issues written instructions and standard operating procedures and ensures compliance with them.
  • Keeps employees informed on organizational goals and objectives, as well as changes in regulations, policies, and procedures governing the work.
  • Develops performance plans and appraises performance. Counsels employees regarding their progress in meeting performance requirements, or actions needed to meet standards.
  • Using a practical knowledge of computer system applications and equipment, analyzes data automation policies, regulations, and procedures to determine their impact on logistics information systems.
  • Recommends and implements tailored or standard Army automated systems to facilitate management of the Brigade logistics mission.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment
  • This position has been designated Mission Essential.
  • In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Drivers License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • This position requires the incumbent to possess, or obtain and maintain, a valid regular or official U.S. Passport.
  • A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
  • Must be able to satisfactorily complete a medical examination for deployment to CENTCOM area in accordance with MOD-17.
  • Financial Disclosure Statement OGE Form 450 is used to assist agencies and employees to avoid conflicts between duties and financial interest.
  • This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.

This position is in the Supervisory/Management Work Category at the Full Performance Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure.In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by developing and issuing written instructions and/or standard operating procedures to ensure compliance; analyzing work products and performance data to identify errors and/or training needs; initiating integrated logistic support (ILS) planning actions for operation and maintenance (O&M) support accomplishment; and developing supply support (i.e. support and test equipment, transportation and handling, accountability, technical data concepts, etc.) for communications equipment/systems.
  • Current DoD Employees: If a current permanent CES employee, you shall be granted administrative return rights. If not a current permanent CES employee, you may be granted administrative return rights if agreed to by your CONUS organization.
  • In accordance with DoD CES Personnel System Implementation Guidance for Overseas Rotations and Administrative Return Rights, employees must be able to satisfy the rotation requirement and tour limitations in DoD Instruction 1400.25 Volume 1230.
