Job Description

The?Cost Accountant directs activities of product costing, product manufacturinganalysis, and inventory valuation. The position provides recommendations to seniormanagement in support of the achievement of Company goals. Position reports to the costing section head.Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining cost accounting system and cost ledger.
  • Producing monthly management accounts including material costs.
  • Ensuring all costs are identified and recorded accurately.
  • Understand Operational and Production software to ensure that costs are recorded accurately.
  • Analyzing production costs and recommending changes.
  • Maintaining standard costs of raw materials, packaging, machines and finished goods.
  • Implementing cost standards for materials and labor.
  • Reconciling beginning raw materials, work-in-progress and finished-goods stock.
  • Perform month end close activities related to Cost Accounting manufacturing costs, inventory, and expense information.
  • Set up new raw material, packaging, WIP, and FG items; create and maintain production BOMs; maintain periodic cost rolls/updates.
  • Analyzes changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services provided, to determine effects on costs. Analyzes actual production costs and prepares periodic.
  • Prepares estimates of new and proposed product or service costs.
  • Maintain and improve processes and controls associated with manufacturing costs and inventory valuation.
  • Overseeing monthly and annual physical inventory
  • Assist in developing and documenting policies and procedures, including system requirements and internal controls.
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Accounts Director & Chief Financial Officer from time to time.
