Job Description

As a Sous Chef at our private sector establishment in Saudi Arabia, you will be responsible for assisting the head chef in managing the kitchen operations and ensuring the highest quality of food production. Your role will involve supervising the food preparation, managing kitchen staff, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in a similar role and possess strong culinary skills.Responsibilities:

  1. Assist the head chef in planning and organizing the daily operations of the kitchen.
  2. Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and in a timely manner.
  3. Ensure the highest standards of food production, taste, and presentation are maintained at all times.
  4. Monitor food inventory and place orders for ingredients and supplies as needed.
  5. Train and develop kitchen staff, providing guidance and feedback to improve their culinary skills.
  6. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the kitchen, including proper food handling and storage.
  7. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, following sanitation standards and procedures.
  8. Collaborate with the head chef to create new dishes and menus, considering customer preferences and seasonal ingredients.
  9. Assist in cost control and budget management by minimizing food waste and optimizing kitchen operations.
  10. Stay updated with industry trends and techniques, continuously improving culinary skills and knowledge.
Preferred Candidate:
  1. At least 2 years of experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a high-volume kitchen.
  2. Degree or diploma in culinary arts or related field.
  3. Strong knowledge of international and regional cuisines, as well as food safety and sanitation standards.
  4. Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
  5. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.
  6. Attention to detail and a passion for creating exceptional culinary experiences.
  7. Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  8. Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  9. Proficiency in Arabic and English languages is preferred.
  10. Experience in a multicultural environment is an advantage.
