Job Description

IDB2852 - Unit Head- Syndication (ICD)Location: Saudi Arabia - JeddahRole Purpose:Oversee the origination, distribution and management of ICDs syndicated portfolio in accordance with ICD?s credit policies and guidelines and overall risk appetite and return targets, and with an eye towards maximizing the developmental impact of ICD?s financial interventions in its member countries, * Manage the effort to source, originate and distribute ICD-led syndicated financing transactions as Lead Arranger and a Bookrunner.* Provide centralized syndications services across ICD, assuming a supporting role in coordinating potential syndication opportunities for core business units (whether third-party or ICD-led)* Support and work together with core business units and regional offices to actively originate potential syndication opportunities* Coordinate the evaluation of potential syndication participation opportunities with concerned core functions* Provide structuring guidance to core business units as it relates to syndication opportunities, and actively participate in presenting proposals to potential syndication partners, emphasizing the benefits of syndication and co-financing* Promote UCD-led syndication opportunities and transactions to secure enough participation from target partner institutions.* Participate, together with core business units, in negotiating financing terms and agreements for syndication purposes* Establish and maintain working relationships with the widest possible group of suitable commercial co-financiers, as to be able to mobilize resources from those entities for syndication opportunities, when and where applicable* Provide direction and guidance when required on matters relating to the evaluation, structuring, execution and monitoring of syndicated transactions in which his/her staff are involved.* Develop and retain a universe of participants / investors for syndicated transactions* Supervise the evaluation, structuring and execution of syndicated transactions* Provide support in the credit approval process by undertaking in-depth financial analysis and participate in the execution of deals.* Leads all tasks relating to ICD-led syndicated transactions including preparing all the marketing materials, engaging external advisors, mobilizing the syndicate, structuring and execution and deal closing* Prepare marketing materials such as Confidential Information Memoranda, presentations, teasers, indicative term sheets and mandate letters* Manage the Negotiation and execution of financing agreements* Monitor transaction closing, correspond with participating lenders or lead arrangers in bank groups, identify potential credit issues, and confirm proper loan documentation* Mobilize external funds for ICD clients from the suitable commercial financiers and development financial institutions* Champion mobilization of external funds in all ICD syndicated financing transactions* Ensures quality performance of ICD?s contractual obligations under syndicated and parallel financing* Review and analyze complex facility agreements* Ensure smooth and efficient disbursement under the Loan and Participations Agreements.* Supervise processed payments of all amounts due to both ICD and the Participants under the Facility and Participation Agreements.* Inform Participants of important project developments and ensure that the Participants? views are fully considered in the management of the Loan.* Manage the contractual relationship between ICD, the Obligor and the Participants.* Monitor and distribute all financial and project progress reports to Participants, if ICD plays the role of Investment Agent* Maintain any administrative duties on pre- and post-closing basis* Track business development (collect research, analyze industry trends)* Advise and assist the member country institutions in origination, evaluation, structuring, execution and monitoring of syndicated facilities* Participate in internal and external trainings related to syndication.* Contribute and provide input in various committees, as applicable to the roleQualifications/ Professional Experience:* At least 8 years of relevant experience in an international corporate banking and/or capital markets environment, in debt syndication?s role in emerging markets with at least 3 years of experience in a supervisory role is a must.* Bachelor?s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Mathematics, or similar discipline is a must.* CFA and/ Financial Market Association or other relevant professional certifications is a must.Language Skills:Capable of communicating in two of the working languages (Arabic, English and French) of which English is a must.
