SummaryThis position involves the centerilized processing and sterilization of patient care, reusable divices, instruments and equipements. These items are held in storge and then destributed along with pre- packaged, pre- sterilized supplies, using a destribution cart to the various patient care areas on the Hospital including the operating room and dental clinic.Essential Responsibilities and Duties1. Receives contaminates devices, instruments and equipment in the decontamination area and reduces the bioburden, being sure to always do personal protective equipment. Uses chemical, disinfectants and sterilants according to safety procedures.2. Operates the decontamination and terminal sterilization equipment and reports all malfunctions or changes in the parameters.3. Sorts, inspects, assembles, and wraps or packages all decontaminates items.4. Assures proper sterility of all processed items by adhering to established stereilization procedures, including loading, unloading, storage, handling techniques and sterility assurance monitors. Incubates Biological Moniotrs and records all monitors results according to established proicedures. Applies labels.5. Prepares single items and various sets as designated.EducationHigh school graduate and certification from Board ofSterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) or International Association of Healthcare Central Services Material Management (IAHCSMM) required.Experience RequiredGrade 7:Two (2) years ofrelated experience in CSSD is required.Grade 8:Four (4) years of experience in KFSHRC as CSSD Technician.Average performance evaluation 4.3 or more.Other Requirements(Certificates)Ability to read, write, and verbally communicates in English.
