IDB2829 - Lead Principal, FI Financing & Guarantees (ICD)Location: Saudi Arabia - JeddahRole Purpose:Improve private enterprises? access to financing in member countries by originating, processing and structuring Lines of Financing (LOF) programs and Guarantees with partner FIs and corporates in member countries in accordance with ICDs strategy and business targets. * Maintain relationships with member country governments, sovereign entities, regulatory bodies and other private stakeholders in order to develop client origination and sourcing strategy.* Identify potential LOF transactions to FIs, Non-Banking Financial Institutions, corporates, Government owned entities etc.* Propose and execute client origination and sourcing strategy, taking into consideration target countries, products, sectors, and development goals.* Assist the Division head in the preliminary appraisal to assess the feasibility and viability of potential LOF transactions and alignment with ICD?s strategy and development objectives, taking into consideration experience from previous transactions as applicable. * Obtain necessary client and project documents and details in order to conduct a proper appraisal of the project.* Conduct proper KYC & Compliance check, commercial due diligence of the clients and assess the full business potential, risks and opportunities associated with the project in cooperation with its alignment with ICD?s policies and guidelines in coordination with ICD?s ecosystem (risk, legal, sharia etc. functions), taking into consideration the client?s ability and willingness to comply with ICD?s standards and practices.* Identify/ Outline any gaps and recommend actions that need to be taken by the client to close the gaps.* Process and present the credit financing proposals to the investment committee (IC), ensuring proper review and coordination with ICD?s ecosystem, including risk, legal, development effectiveness and Shariaa functions, and obtain necessary approvals as applicable.* Coordinate with legal function and client to ensure that legal documents are prepared and duly executed as per the transaction structure and that the facility is declared effective for disbursement.* Execute and track disbursement transactions as per the project structures.* Initiate and participate in the negotiations with the client and conduct relevant activities, including but not limited to project timeline and disbursement cycles & criteria, working alongside Regional offices and IsDB entities where and when beneficial.* Coordinate with all required parties to ensure that legal documents are prepared and duly executed as per the transaction structure and that the facility is declared effective for disbursement* Work in conjunction with and support the Portfolio Management team post-project handover to maintain portfolio quality.* Provide quality assurance on deliverables, internal documentation and reports used for internal investment processing purposes.* Engage with the client and other relevant stakeholders in deal structuring and financialization of the term sheet as per the guidelines of the IC.* Perform the necessary tasks and processes in order to secure the required approvals of ICD for investment opportunities that are feasible* Participate and prepare for evaluation, structuring and execution of transactions up to the first disbursement and hand over to the Portfolio Management team.* Provide the Portfolio Management team necessary support in subsequent disbursements, waivers, amendments, periodic evaluation etc. throughout the life of the LOF facility.* Follow-up with clients and co-financiers to ensure compliance with effectiveness conditions and process the first drawdown requests internally to facilitate timely disbursements.* Transfer investment files to the Portfolio Management team after the first disbursement and provide support on ongoing basis.* Actively engage with the clients to understand their requirements for additional funding to support growth.Qualifications/ Professional Experience:* At least 8 years of experience in Front Office in the Financial Institutions, Investment Banks, DFIs/MDBs, or equivalent roles at reputable bank(s)/non-banking FI(s), preferably in Shariah context.* Bachelor?s degree in Finance, Banking, Economics or any relevant discipline is a must. * A certificate in CFA, CMA, CPA, MBA or any other additional relevant professional certificate is a must.* Knowledge of Islamic finance and banking is an advantage* Thorough understanding of the financial sector and relevant risks.* Quantitative/numerical skills with the ability to interpret financial information and to design and use financial models.* Credit analysis skills, with the ability to interpret financial statements of banks and non-bank FIs, understanding local and international accounting principles and practice of credit analysis.* Computer literacy, conversant with Microsoft Office and spread sheet packages including financial analysis and modelling modules.* Demonstrated ability to structure a variety of financial instruments.* Proven track record of success in developing client relationships and execution of client engagements.* Knowledge in international economic development arena and commitment to sustainable development.* Excellent business judgment and strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify issues and present creative, practical solutions.* Great team player, able to mentor and train more junior staff.* Capacity to deal with conflicting priorities and deliver high quality work on schedule; ability to work successfully in multicultural teams and across boundaries.* Ability to deal with clients at senior-levels and to work with various stakeholders.Language Skills:* Capable of communicating in two of the working languages (Arabic, English and French) of which English is a must.* Good command over the local/regional language of the ICD?s member countries is an added advantage.
