SummaryAssists in managing health physics and radiation protection services.Essential Responsibilities and Duties1. Establishes inspection program for incoming radioactive shipments and sealed sources to certify non-leakage.2. Prepares plans and specifications for technical equipment and systems.3. Establishes inspection of outgoing shipments to insure radiation safety regulations are in compliance, before shipment to other users in the Kingdom and Middle East.4. Supervises and instructs technicians in radiation safety procedures. Assures compliance with procedures.5. Prepares technical reports and documentation for clinical researchers.6. Troubleshoots equipment failures and malfunctioning. Analyses problems and recommends solutions. Anticipates potential problems.7. Supervises preparation of rooms for radioisotope patients, administration of iodine therapy, patient radiation measurements, and room decontamination after patient discharge.8. Performs and/or be responsible for special projects assigned by the immediate supervisor.9. Participates in Department/Unit specific and Hospital wide quality improvement plan preferred.EducationMaster?s or Bachelor?s Degree in Medical Physics or other related discipline from a recognized institution is required.Experience RequiredNo experience required with Master?s Degree or four (4) years of related Medical or Health Physics experience with Bachelor?s Degree is required.Other Requirements(Certificates)NA
