Job Description

The Governance Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring that the financial services organization adheres to regulatory requirements and internal policies. This position involves overseeing governance frameworks, risk management, and compliance initiatives to promote ethical practices and accountability within the organization. The Governance Officer will work closely with various departments to implement governance strategies and enhance operational efficiency.Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and maintain governance frameworks that align with regulatory standards and organizational objectives.
  2. Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  3. Collaborate with senior management to identify and mitigate risks associated with governance and compliance.
  4. Prepare and present reports on governance and compliance issues to the board and senior leadership.
  5. Facilitate training sessions for employees on governance policies and compliance requirements.
  6. Monitor changes in legislation and regulations that may impact the organization?s governance practices.
  7. Assist in the development of policies and procedures to enhance organizational governance.
  8. Act as a point of contact for regulatory bodies and ensure timely communication regarding compliance matters.
  9. Support the implementation of best practices in corporate governance across the organization.
  10. Evaluate and recommend improvements to existing governance processes and systems.
