Job Description

Job Summary:The GL Accountant Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the general ledger accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. This role includes supervising a team of GL Accountants, managing the month-end close process, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.Strategic / General Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement GL accounting policies and procedures.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Assist in the development of financial strategies to support business goals.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the GL accounting team.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial regulations.
Operational Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Supervise daily GL accounting operations.
  • Review and approve journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements.
  • Coordinate audits and provide necessary documentation.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends and variances.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.
