This is a full-time role; however, Oxfam offers various flexible arrangements which candidates can discuss with the Recruiting Manager at interview stageThis role reports to:Program manager/WASH Team Leader * Together with the other WASH Team members, carry out specific assessments in the project locations* With the Roving WASH Team leader, develop hygiene promotion strategy for the Diyala programme* Conduct consultation with communities and other stakeholders on the appropriate approaches and activities on hygiene promotion* Lead the planning and implementation of Public Health Promotion response in the target areas in Diyala and surrounding areas.* Implement all hygiene promotion activities as per the donors? contract, with the support of the PHP assistants (if any), community volunteers and committees in close coordination with the Directorate of Health and community leaders* Provide guidance to PHP team, volunteers and communities in the selection of beneficiaries for any NFI distribution (water filter, water kits, hygiene kits, dignity kits, PWD kits etc)* Together with the other WASH Team members and Media team, develop appropriate awareness raising materials and seek approval from the relevant government authorities and donor (if required)* Ensure that work is carried out in a way that is sensitive to the needs of vulnerable communities and individuals (elderly, persons with chronic illness, PWDs, pregnant and lactating mothers and children)* Coordinate with other actors working in Diyala for possible collaboration and complementation of projects.* Comply to the precautionary measures set by the government, WASH cluster and Oxfam when working in the communities (COVID-19, Security and Access).* Collaborate with the EFSVL, Gender and Protection Teams to implement integrated project in the project locations.* Work with Logistics and finance for the required resources for the hygiene promotion activities* Coordinate and work with the Directorate of Health on the implementation of awareness raising activities* Participate in WASH cluster meetings related to the Diyala response* Participate in meetings called for by the relevant authorities in the project areas* Support preparation and facilitation for donor and Oxfam affiliates visits.* Ensure the integration of gender, protection, environment and other crosscutting issues to the design, implementation and development of WASH activities* Perform any other work-related tasks assigned by supervisorEssential - Experience, Knowledge, Qualifications & Competencies(Note to managers: Please include up to max. 5 essential criteria) 1. At least two years of experience in community mobilisation and public health promotion 2. Experience in humanitarian and development project is essential, ideally with an NGO, with proven application at field level 3. Considerable experience in conducting capacity building needs assessment and facilitating community meetings and trainings4.Language: Good written and spokenEnglishand fluency in spoken and writtenArabic,5. Strong interpersonal and team management skills and proven ability to be flexible in demanding situation.Desirable1. Practical understanding of public health issues and sensitivity to the needs and priorities of disadvantaged populations. 2.
