To request a reasonable accommodation form, email humanresources@acuityinternational.comLabor CategoryFN1Job OverviewThe Personal Security Detail (PSD) Protection Officer (PO) is responsible for the protection of designated contract personnel, USG and others as determined by the Program Manager and Director of Security, Balad. The Protection Officers (PO) will follow established PSD Security Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to effectively ensure government, contract compliance and International Standard (ISO) 18788.The Protection Officer (PO) is to also fulfil the duties of the First Responder, primarily responsible for providing medical support, with first-line trauma support as the priority, to the Principals and Team Members, until Principals and Team Members can be evacuated to a medical facility nearby.ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Under the general direction of the Security Operations Manager, PSD Manager, PSD Deputy Manager and the Personal Protection Officers (PPO):
  • Performs the day-to-day protective security functions as specified in Sallyport Mobile Security SOP?s, and according to ISO18788 Standards.
  • Responsible for stabilizing the injured and determining medical priorities as situations arise; advises management on all PSD related health, safety and environmental risks.
  • Acts as a liaison between the PSD and other medical components within SGS, and BDOC.
  • Responds in disaster situations as required.
  • Manages inspects and replenishes medical equipment as required.
  • Responsible for knowledge of Principals? blood types, known allergies and possible medical conditions before the missions.
  • Conducts basic medical training for Team Members. First Responder Training.
  • Be up to date, with all duties of the PSD Personal Protection Officer (PPO), allowing for the Protection Officer (PO) to perform those duties as and when required, on short notice.
  • Coordinate a medevac from any worksite or route taken during movement, in an event of an incident occurring.
  • Carries and operates weapons as specified in Sallyport Mobile Security SOP?s, or upon orders from the Personal Protection Officer (PPO).
  • Assists with daily movements, planning and briefings.
  • Assists the Personal Protection Officer (PPO) in the preparation of training schedules and briefing of new Team Members.
  • Ensures that all vehicles and equipment are maintained and functioning properly.
  • Oversees the status and maintenance of the team?s vehicles (dispatch and services) and equipment.
  • Maintains abreast of SGS? policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for the safekeeping; safeguarding and daily maintenance of all weapons under his control, in accordance with SGS?s policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for the prompt reporting of significant incidents to the Personal Protection Officer (PPO), or BDOC.
  • Maintains a high level of Operational Security (OPSEC) standards whilst on duty and leave.
  • Performs related duties as assigned by the PSD Manager or Personal Protection Officer (PPO) and BDOC.
  • Responsible for after-hours emergencies at his allocated client POD.
  • Adhere to all COVID-19 SOP?s and measures.
QUALIFICATIONS & CERTIFICATIONS
  • Successfully Completed Level 3 Certificate for Working as a Close Protection Operative within the Private Security Industry (BTEC; Pearson?s; HABC).
  • The individual should possess credible medical training to a level of FPOS or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver?s License.
SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
  • Previous experience working in Law Enforcement, Paramilitary and/or Military organizations (in the case of military service, all military discharges must have been under honorable conditions).
  • One (1) year experience working in protective security services for a public or private entity.
  • Previous work experience in hostile, post-conflict environments.
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of security operations in the developing world.
  • Skilled in observing situations and decision-making.
  • Skilled in dealing courteously with Principals and others encountered during duty.
  • Ability to pass a detailed medical evaluation and physical fitness test.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and concisely verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to operate vehicles and equipment, including nighttime operation with vision or corrected vision.
  • Ability to operate independently in remote and dangerous locations without guaranteed communications and immediate external support.
  • Ability to qualify and remain current in weapons normally carried by military and/or law enforcement officers. (i. e. Semi-automatic, pistols and Rifles).
  • Ability to work well in teams and a collaborative environment.
  • Ability to climb, crawl, crouch, bend, stand for long periods, reach above shoulder level, extend arms at awkward angles, lift, and carry objects.
  • Ability to remain alert for shifts of twelve (12) consecutive hours or as required.
