Job Description

Overview**This position is physically located in Iraq in support of LOGCAP**

  • The Employee Relations Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing Employee Relation Cases for LOGCAP V Iraq projects. The ER supervisor will partner with the PMO LOGCAP ER Supervisor, HR Management in Iraq and Task Order Management for ER cases recommendations. The ER Supervisor coaches and advises employees and managers on progressive discipline, performance management, conflict resolution, and employment risk matters ensuring a consistent and aligned approach when managing employee relations across the program. He/she will gather detailed, pertinent information by conducting fact-finding interviews and investigations, interpret the findings, prepare documentation, and document & track disciplinary actions taken for corrective action and grievances. He/she will maintain a positive employee relations environment including enabling management capability, oversight of managers employee relations activities, maintaining the pulse of employees ER experience, and professional handling of issues/cases in accordance with VECTRUS established practices.

  • Conducts High-Priority and Confidential investigations for Iraq projects as assigned.
  • Track and Monitors ER cases for LC V program and provides Metrics to HR Manager for Iraq and LOGCAP PMO ER Supervisor.
  • Provide review of termination for cause actions and provide guidance to HR Manager for Iraq and LOGCAP PMO ER Supervisor.
  • Gather information and prepare documentation associated with employee relations issues.
  • Work with managers to prepare appropriate progressive discipline documentation.
  • Prepares concise and analytical investigative reports.
  • Develops recommendations per policy regarding disciplinary actions.
  • Provides expert advice, coaching, and assistance to management to address an array of employee conduct and performance issues and grievances with fluctuating levels of complexity
  • Drafts disciplinary and adverse actions, including letters of counseling, proposed performance improvement plan (PIP), and termination letters.
  • Prepares material and conducts training for supervisory personnel on matters pertaining to disciplinary actions,
  • grievance procedures, counseling techniques and effective documentation
  • Maintains effective working relationships with all echelons within the program, internal and external agencies
  • Maintains records and files to support employee relations reporting and records requirement.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Qualifications: Educations/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
    • BS/BA degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or related field Preferred.
    • Must have CAC eligibility and/or the ability to obtain a CAC
  • Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination:
    • To be qualified for this position you must comply with USCENTCOM MOD 16 that requires proof that you are fully vaccinated for COVID-19, as defined by the CDC or host country requirements. As of now, to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 you must have received either two doses of Pfizer BioNTech Vaccine, two doses of AstraZeneca/Oxford Vaccine, two doses of Moderna Vaccine, or one dose of Johnson & Johnson Vaccine, and two weeks must have elapsed after the final dose was administered. This definition may change in accordance with CDC guidelines. Compliance with this government requirement is an essential function of the position and is a condition of employment.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum seven (7) years of Human Resources disciplines experience required.
    • Four (4) year of those being in employee/labor relations including personnel investigations and conflict/complaint resolution
  • Skills:
    • Strong client/customer focus, coupled with a collaborative style.
    • Ability to handle confidential materials/issues, employee files, organizational change, grievances, and performance reviews.
    • Strong attention to detail in composing and proofing materials, establishing priorities, scheduling and meeting deadlines.
    • Ability to interact and communicate well with individuals at all levels of the organization and across cultures including the ability to handle difficult conversations.
    • Ability to build authentic relationships by making oneself available to others and listening to and respecting the perspectives and opinions of others.
    • Must possess excellent writing skills for the purpose of composing/drafting correspondence such as: disciplinary/adverse and performance based actions letters (e.g. reprimands, proposal and decisions for suspensions/removals, and performance improvement plans.
    • Must be able to write ER Reports
    • Strong influencing skills and the ability to coach employees and management through complex, difficult and emotional issues and influence decisions without direct decision making authority.
    • Demonstrated ability to resolve problems or issues by gathering and assessing information, taking advice, and using judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities:
    • Supervise and provide guidance to Iraq ER personnel.
  • Working Conditions:
    • Works in an uncommon tour of duty environment, including nights, weekends and holidays. Travel to all areas of operation for LOGCAP V is a must.
    • Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required. PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
    • Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Work is generally conducted in an office environment. Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
    • Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
