Job Description

As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase, you are part of an agile team that works to enhance, design, and deliver the software components of the firm?s state-of-the-art technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As an emerging member of a software engineering team, you execute software solutions through the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical product, application, or system, while gaining the skills and experience needed to grow within your role.Job responsibilities

  • Executes standard software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting
  • Writes secure and high-quality code using the syntax of at least one programming language with limited guidance
  • Designs, develops, codes, and troubleshoots with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and technical implications
  • Gathers, analyzes, and draws conclusions from large, diverse data sets to identify problems and contribute to decision-making in service of secure, stable application development
  • Learns and applies system processes, methodologies, and skills for the development of secure, stable code and systems
  • Should be able to troubleshoot production scenarios with minimal or no support, Able to mitigate and solve any data transformation challenges.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • 6+ years of Software Engineering experience and Solid experience in Tableau
  • Experience in data transformation, analysis and visualization using Alteryx, writing complex SQL queries
  • Experience with any of the additional BI tools (QlikSense),developing dashboards on Big Data, Experience working with Dremio
  • Strong experience in creating macros and reusables workflows.
  • Working knowledge consuming data from a variety of data sources and file types, including but not limited to: csv, excel, alteryx db, json, impala, hive, oracle and S3, Well-rounded preparing and writing data using different formats like avro, csv, alteryx db and Tableau files.
  • Strong understanding of data warehouse concepts and working experience in relational and dimensional modeling is required.
  • Solid experience utilizing Source code control software (e.g. GIT, Subversion),RDBMS experience including stored procedure
  • Exposure to agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Applicant Resiliency, and Security
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Information Science Management, Engineering, or related field. Advanced degree preferred
  • Emerging knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
  • Familiar with any other reporting tools, Alteryz knowledge is a plus.
  • Exposure to public cloud technologies and Java development will be a plus
