  • Compliance Stewardship team at CoE supports Compliance teams across Group, regions and business lines with Governance and Oversight of their stewardship responsibilities.
  • Team also supports Group Capability within the Compliance function to sets standards and infrastructure to support stewardship of Regulatory Compliance risks for the group.
  • The role is a forward looking role to support the reporting and governance requirements along with design and build of the Region and GBLs within the HSBC Compliance function.
The Opportunity
    • Producing reports to support Risk Stewards taking an intelligence-led approach to overseeing changes in 1LoD portfolio RC and FC Risks, identifying areas where there may be potential detriment requiring further investigation
    • Consolidating information from various HSBC systems (Helios, IRIS, Archer, etal) and producing MI for senior risk management forums, including information on escalations, and agreed actions
    • The role will involve working with stakeholders across Regulatory Conduct in country, regional and Group roles to report findings on RC /FC risks.
    • Role holder must be able to work comfortably within a fluid and developing framework.
    • The successful applicant will need to have leadership qualities, excellent data analysis skills, Regulatory Conduct knowledge, an inquisitive and investigative mind-set, good report writing and communication skills, as well as a good understanding of project management techniques, in order to achieve the team?s objectives
What You?ll Do?Principal Accountabilities
  • To support Businesses by providing specialist assistance as required;
  • To proactively identify key emerging compliance risks across all RC/FC categories and interface appropriately with other Compliance teams and senior management;
  • To provide understanding of the potential impact and associated consequences of significant new or emerging risks;
  • To pro-actively work with the Business and Stakeholders to develop policies and procedures as required;
  • To provide innovative and effective solutions based on SME knowledge that assist the Business / Function
Leadership & Teamwork
  • Assist with developing and communicating a clear vision for Compliance Stewardship that is aligned to the overall HSBC vision, Values and goals, and inspires and engage people to create an inclusive, high performing, customer-centred culture;
  • Encourage constructive cross-country and cross-business teamwork by demonstrating collaboration and matrix management in action and taking prompt action to address any activities and behaviours that are not consistent with HSBCs diversity policy and/or the best interests of the business and its customers.
Specific responsibilities
  • Support development and implementation of globally consistent Compliance Stewardship to provide actionable risk insights;
  • Consolidation and analysis of risk information to identify RC/FC risk insights for senior stakeholders to action;
  • Deliver of products that support the risk stewardship model and promote an active risk management culture within compliance
  • Implementation of tracking and oversight protocols to ensure action is taken, where required;
Supporting responsibilities / capabilities
  • Providing input into the design of and implementing enhancements to risk framework components, managing the incorporation of Compliance requirements within the overall risk governance framework and strategy.
  • Working with Compliance MI and Project teams to oversee the design and implementation of a new technical solution to ensure data is available via a user-friendly front-end reporting tool
