Abides by the Medical Staff Bylaws, Code of Medical Ethics, Rules and Regulations of the Medical Staff and those specific to the Department.
Responsible for the provision and maintenance of an efficient consultative, diagnostic and advisory service in Microbiology & Immunology.
Responsible for documented staff orientation, training and continuous Medical Education in Microbiology and Serology Section.
Design the internal quality activities in both Microbiology and Serology including the timed (daily, weekly, monthly) activity, audit and surveillance and practice.
Share in the preparation of hospital infection control strategy, activity, and practice.
Participate in the designation of antibiotic usage practice in the hospital to maintain the ideal antibiotic utilization.
Provides advice to the Director of Medical Laboratory concerning trends and new developments in the field of Microbiology & Immunology.
Participates in the management of physical and manpower resources of Microbiology & Immunology to maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
Participates in the on-call duties as required by the Department.ÿ
Participates in the improvement of quality of patient care (Continuous Quality Improvement & Patient Safety Programme, Quality Assessment Improvement Programme) as applicable.
Fulfils the requirements of the Saudi Council for Health Specialties with regards to continuing Medical Education.
Participates in and/or actively supports approved research projects.
Deputises for his superior as required and shares workload in his specialty during the absence of his Colleagues.
Serves on Hospital Committees as requested.
Performs other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of his/her knowledge, skills and abilities, within the hospital and / or affiliated Medical Facilities.
