Udacity has more than 100 enterprise customers including Airbus, Bertelsmann, BNP Paribas, Leidos, Mazda, and the United States Air Force.Udacity?s Content Production team is looking for an on-call Visual Designer for Education Content to assist with the creation of Udacity?s course content. The successful candidate will work remotely and report to the projects Producer. Work is strictly on an on-call basis. While there is a large amount of flexibility with work times and all work may be done remotely, it will be ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY to make time to meet with Udacity?s Producers, Instructors and Curriculum Managers during regular US Pacific working hours.This position is fast paced. You will be working closely with Instructors to help design and animate slides for use in course content. These slides will be used to teach Udacity?s students various skills in tech so an interest in tech and pedagogy is also useful. Your designs will have to get complex ideas across to students in a timely, educational and engaging fashion.On the logistical side of things, this is an ?on call? position, so there is no guarantee of hours. You will provide your own hardware. You will be required to use proper file structure and maintain communication with your Producer.The right candidate will have strong visual design skills and will know how to track media from concept through delivery. Candidates will also be highly communicative and have experience working in fully integrated cross-functional teams as well as a proficiency in written Arabic.People that thrive at Udacity have experience juggling several projects at once, yet know when to ask for guidance and clarification!What you?ll be doing:

• Creating animated 2D slides using Google slides and other programs that clearly convey complex ideas in an educational and engaging manner
• Following Instructor guidelines, production notes, and scripts to create engaging and compelling slides that enhance retention of skills being taught
• Adhere to Udacity Content Design standards and processes
• Communicating frequently with the project team via Slack, email, and comments.
• Receiving and quickly incorporating feedback at various points in the process to iterate on designs and make them stronger
• Organizing assets (designs, videos, etc) in a Udacity standard file structure
• Working as part of a team and taking direction from producers, curriculum managers, and Instructors
• Contributing to a library of icons that may be used time and again in slides
• Redesigning slides for an Arabic Audience

You?ll be an excellent fit if you have:

• Minimum 5 years experience with graphic design
• Familiarity with Google Slides, Illustrator, Photoshop, and After Effects
• Familiarity with shape layer animation
• Experience with layout and typography
• A good eye for spacing/timing and design as well as the ability to follow a style guide
• A track record of working successfully remotely
• Excellent knowledge of learning theories and Visual design models
• Proficient animation skills
• Experience working within Digital Asset Managers

It?d be great if you also have experience with:

• Excellent knowledge of learning theories and Visual design models
• Basic HTML and Flash programming
• Complex Animation
• 3D software or plugins, such as C4D, Maya, Blender, 3DS Max, and Element 3D
• Essential Graphics
