Job Description

Together with your tender team, you are responsible to assure clients that we are the right partner for the job. You are the link between theory and practice. You do not need to know everything, but you should have strong networking skills and be comfortable to speak up. We are constantly optimizing our processes to retain our position and keep up with the influx of tenders in the coming years. As a tender engineer, you will be challenged to help in this optimization and further develop the tender community. As a Tender Engineer, you support the Tender Manager in organizing and managing the tender process of one or more projects. These projects range from a small port upgrade in Angola to a large multidisciplinary project in Australia. You will have frequent catch-ups with our estimating & engineering department, but will also be in contact with our commercial, legal and financial teams. From the receipt of the invitation to the negotiations of the submitted tender, you will have a seat at the table to maximize the attractiveness our bid. You will put all your energy in getting the right colleagues involved, making sure Van Oord has the winning bid. Van Oord is keen on creating a better world for future generations by delivering marine ingenuity. In the coming years, significant focus will lie on tenders that support this purpose. Our experience includes projects that protect areas against rising sea levels and floods while at the same time create space for nature conservation and recreation. Furthermore, you will be responsible for: * Organizing and managing tender processes; * Being in contact with a variation of technical- and non-technical specialists throughout the organization; * Align with the business to make sure everybody is on the same page; * Challenge and input received from colleagues; * Contribute to planning and risk sessions; * Compile and write tender documents; * Organise the follow-up and hand-over of successful tenders; * Evaluate tender processes to continuously improve our way of working. * A Bachelor?s or a Master?s degree preferably in civil engineering; * Several years? experience in a similar position, preferably in the dredging industry; * An excellent command of the English language; * Experience in the execution of hydraulic engineering and/or civil technical projects is an advantage; * Motivational and positive mindset; * Customer minded and a representative attitude; * An analytically strong colleague who is result and collaboration driven; * Willingness to travel (inter)nationally; * Outstanding communicative and social skills.
