Job Description

Job PurposePrincipal Data Architect will be responsible for designing the Big data & Data warehouse layers and enriching them with required data across the organization and ensure proper storage of data assets; also will ensure the proper delivery of required data elements for either reporting or application needs.Principal Data Architect will work closely with EPM/ERM Teams to avail the required data for managerial and risk reporting, and will be responsible for the data projects.DescriptionData Modelling:1. Guiding DWH & Big Data development teams to practice the proposed Data Architecture2. Create logical & Physical data model for the required data structures using clients modelling standards and standard ERWin modelling tools.Data Transformation(ETL):3. Responsible for applying different data integration & ETL techniques between data sources and EDW and from EDW to different integrated systems4. Decide & Select the best approaches to use for data integration & transformationData Consumption:5. Responsible for analysis and design for different application data needs from EDW6. Decide & Select the best approaches to use for applications data integration with EDWData Development:7. Responsible for Hadoop and big data technology stack for better data development.8. Responsible for data integration and distribution across Hadoop nodes9. Responsible for applying best data movements techniques from and to Hadoop.Controls10. Full adherence to a set of guiding principles for data warehousing & Big Data11. Develop a feedback loop with data science and EPM/ERM team to constantly enhance data structurePolicies, Processes and Procedures12. Implement  approved department policies, processes, and procedures and monitor adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner 13. Set data standards and procedures as part of the Data Counsel to ensure enterprise-wide quality and integration. Monitor and enforce data policies, procedures and standards. Identify gaps in compliance and work with data owners/custodians to put plans in place to close identified gaps.14. Full adherence to the data governance policy.Day-to-day management15. Implement  the day-to-day operations assigned for the Information Delivery department to ensure compliance with the established standards and proceduresCompliance16. Comply with all relevant CBE regulations, banking laws, AML regulations and internal CIB policies and code of conduct in order to maintain CIBs sound legal position and mitigate any potential risksQualifications & Experience  Bachelors degree of computer science or its equivalent. MS or MBA in MIS, Computer Sciences, or Finance disciplines preferred with relevant business experience is a plus 9+ years experience with enterprise data warehouse & Big Data management;  2+ years of practical operational management and/or business management experience preferred Sound understanding of the financial services industry that allows for a detailed interpretation of budgetary, financial, and related management information Experience in manipulating complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources Demonstrated ability to effectively work in a dynamic environment, 2) effectively work in a cross-team environment 3) Work independently and directly with the business partners.  Excellent Data management skills using SQL, ErWin, and other Data Management tools Excellent ETL skills with knowledge of Informatica & Data Stage Excellent Hadoop development skills (HBase, Hive, Impala, MR,.) Strong programming and object oriented experience (Java, Python, C#,..). Excellent analytical skills with high attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with persons at all levels in the organisation  High energy and high endurance; ability to respond flexibly and positively in all circumstances; calm under pressure and tight deadlines<span style= font-family:
