We are building a better world of wellbeing, and a better you.YourRole: This role is responsible for all the imports and exports logistics for Egypt ekaterra. Ocean and pre-/on carriage transport from ekaterra?s suppliers to ekaterra?s factories or external warehouses storing goods prior they?re converted into finish goods product. This includes managing 3rd party logistics providers (3PLP) as well as arranging inbound transport operations within given geography, ensuring continuous production at our factories by delivering goods on time in full to destination place. This will cover all the clearance and documentation requirements that are part of this process.Within your role you will be responsible for smooth transition from Unilever?s operations into an ekaterra?s stand alone organization by developing and shaping new organizational setup, implementing new ways of working, tools and systems to ensure end to end compliance for operational activities.YourKey Tasks:

  • Receiving and processing all transport orders coming from suppliers or material planners
  • On time clearance of all export and import materials for the country
  • Cordinating with the respective departments to ensure the smooth logistics of imported and export goods.
  • Respond to routine customer enquiries concerning service ordered
  • Track the status of orders in the IT tools and communicate issues, mitigating solutions
  • Monitor performance of 3PLs
  • Maintain communication on a daily basis with involved parties (supplier and factory) and take action responding on their needs
  • Monitor, identify and implement improvement opportunities on Cost and Service (incl. coordination with procurement)
  • Balance the operational trade-offs between cost, capacity constraints, and service by proposing and implementing creative solutions
  • Support the evaluation and selection of new 3PLs
  • Support regional stakeholders and logistics leads
  • Implement new transport lanes if required/ Implement new 3PLs if required
  • Monitor the IT systems and ensure compliance of all operational procedures
  • Participate in external and internal meetings
  • Support implementation of new IT systems for ekaterra
  • Take over related activities into ekaterra?s operations, driving standardization and improvements
  • Coordinate on a daily basis customs clearances with nominated brokers
Stakeholder Management and key interfaces:
  • Responsible for inbound logistics between suppliers, ports and factories
  • Responsible for export logistics from factory / DC to various countries
  • Engagement with material planners to define service requirements
  • Engagement with factories to define service requirements
  • Reports to the Control Tower Lead
Key interfaces:
  • Sourcing units, Planning functions, other ekaterra?s Logistics units outside your geography,
External:
  • 3PL suppliers, material suppliers, freight forwarders, Sourcing Units, customs brokers,
Skills and Experience ESSENTIAL
  • Education/ bachelor?s degree in Logistics or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year experience in similar positions in Logistics / Planning
  • Fluent in English
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Transport Management System knowledge
  • Willingness to work in line with various time zones
PREFERRED
  • SAP knowledge
