JOB PURPOSEThe United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is the worlds largest humanitarian agency, fighting hunger worldwide. We are seeking to engage an experienced project manager experienced in facilities design and engineering, based in our Regional Bureau in Cairo (RBC), Egypt.As such, WFP RBC requires the engagement of an experienced on-site Construction Designer, who will work with and report to Head of Finance & Administration as part of the Finance & Administration Unit. The main tasks required of the position will include management of a sub team of national officers, implementing sustainable and environmental friendly design concepts and processing suitable tender documentation within the UN and WFP specific environment.The Consultant shall be able to demonstrate in-depth technical knowledge and experience required to identify, analyse and resolve complex Design and Construction issues, manage and direct projects and work streams, provide technical expertise, advice and solutions that support strategic results, and formulate new strategies and technical approaches where appropriate.The Consultant should have vast experience in sustainable desing and construction of public infrastructure and medium scale housing projects. The Consultant assigned to this position will require experience in Design and Construction contract management, including knowledge and experience of international construction contract law, and FIDIC or related Design and Construction contract formats.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
