Job Description

Manage the design process during the execution of design projects across all design stages, including concept design, schematic design, draft final design and construction documentsManage local design team for addressing all technical issues, reviewing designs, obtaining approvals, etc. for all projectsLead the coordination process to integrate designs at all project stagesAssist in preparation of tender documents, Conditions of Contract, etc.Manage consultants and ensure deliverables are in accordance with scope, schedule and budget Make sure that quality assurance procedure is applied promptly for all deliverables and make sure that the quality of design deliverables is consistent with high standardsManage design verification, peer reviews and other quality control activitiesLead design validation and reviews with counterparts and authorities permits, as neededProvide support during the tender process, including managing bid queries, support in evaluation of bids and support during the negotiation and award process, as neededSupport during the construction stage, as needed, including responding to contractors RFIs and solving design conflicts, in coordination with local design team & consultantsLiaise internally to resolve any contractual issues, as neededManage changes in project scope, potential risks and contingency plans, as neededReview & accept the invoices for deliverables, in coordination with control unit manager and local Finance teamPrepare periodic project progress reports, raising major issues to the DirectorManage design projects, including schedule and cost control, team management, client management and risk managementDevelop project management plans, including schedule baselines, project scope baselines, man-hour estimates, quality plans, budgets and risk plans for building design projectsDevelop scope baseline, detailed work breakdown structures, project activities and critical path charts for building design projects of high complexityProvide input on project procurement needs, including external specialty suppliers, as neededLead internal and external project kick-off meetings and ensure stakeholders are alignedStrong experience and track record in managing large and complex/mixed-use building design projects REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors Degree in Architecture or Engineering15+ (all in building construction with at least 5 years in real estate industryPMP certification, is preferredKnowledge of building and architectural designSolid knowledge in all aspects of project managementCompetent in budget and financial management skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilitiesGood understanding of quality control and risk managementExcellent communication skillsExcellent interpersonal and leadership skillsAbility to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of stakeholders, including senior management, clients and various departmentsProficiency in spoken and written of English & ArabicPrimavera, MS office is a MUST
