Job Description

& Specification:

  • Worked shifts : Sunday-Thursday 9h-18h
  • Degree : Master in Data Science or equivalent

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES1/ Address business issues through data analysis
  • Collect and try to relevantly understand business needs
  • Define the exact issue to properly answer the needs
  • Bring forward proposals and challenge the initial requirements
  • Enlighten/guide businesses to existing opportunities or good resources
  • Identify topics / issues that can be solved with the use of data
2/ Select the most relevant data from among the exhaustive range of existing datato respond to a problem/demand/need
  • Find relevant data sources
  • Extract data from the source system
  • Monitor data quality and contribute to its improvement (alerts/precautions)
  • Ensure the data confidence-level
  • Structure data
3/ Make analysis results available using data visualization tools
  • Proceed with the automation of recurring requests
  • Support the use of the analysis interfaces of the study
  • Ensure the maintenance and stability of the tools making results available
4/ Organize and translate information to facilitate users decision making and assistthem in interpreting the results
  • Synthesize and popularize information to make it accessible
  • Make suggestions and support the recommendations? implementation
  • Document the results of the analysis and outline the major limitations / bias of the study
5/ Respect and promote the ethical framework for the use of personal data
  • Ensure the compliance with general data protection regulation and the fundamental of privacy
  • Send the right messages about ethical data use and reserve the right to refuse

Main know hows
  • Understand Decathlons environment and its business stakes in order to be able to adapt models.
  • A good listener and comfortable in communication: popularize and adapt their speech to make their job accessible, know how to give briefs.
  • Speaks English
  • Master the basics of data science: SQL/Machine Learning/Deep Learning and, at least, Python language
  • Master the basics of data visualization (Google Data Studio, Quick Sights)
  • A good understanding of IT infrastructure (Spark, Cloud services,...)
Bonus:
  • Knowledge of web/e-commerce analysis tools (Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager)
  • Skills in Artificial Intelligence (Reinforcement Learning) and/or operational
