Job Description

Location: Cairo, EgyptThales people architect solutions that support 85 million mainline and suburban passenger journeys, worldwide, every day. Together We deployed the first-ever nationwide ticketing system which processes over 50 million ticketing transactions in 100 cities daily.Thales has built a presence in Egypt for over 40 years and has today over 100 employees. Thales in Egypt is part of our Middle East business that has 1,800 people across Egypt, Iraq, Kuwait, KSA, Lebanon, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar and UAE.Together We delivered fare collection and control and communication systems for the first metro line in Africa, Metro Line 1 in Cairo. Since then we have continued to bring growth and security and safety to the country by upgrading these transportation systems as well as providing solutions for customers in air traffic management, air defence and Navy.Key Responsibilities- Responsible to control and monitor project total expenditure including verifying and checking of invoices and claims from suppliers, vendors and subcontractors to ensure that all project expenditures are captured and properly recorded- Provide cost-controlling support for all projects, which includes variation reporting and preparation of customer billing processes, etc- Provide the cost report reflecting budget, commitments, actual cost, and forecasts on a bi-weekly basis and updated cash flow also to ensure smooth financial planning and alert for a potential deficit- Coordinate with Operations, Contracts & Procurement Departments to monitor and review variation orders and update database of projects accordingly, identify cost, budget, cash flow and schedule impact of proposed changes- Provide cost analysis and commercial recommendations in claims- Ensure effective project implementation and utilize productive reports from the creation of WBS with the use of the company internal system to monitor the status of all purchases, invoicing and delivery up to the closure of the project- Attend project meetings and discussions with the clients and subcontractors- Perform project costing related reporting to the department head and managements review on a monthly basis to ensure that expenditures are kept within the project budget- Provide cost control advice to management when required- Undertake any other ad-hoc duties as required REQUIREMENTS: What are we looking for- Degree in Engineering with specialization in Project Management or Cost Control related training- 4+ years experience in cost controlling- Advance Knowledge level in Excel and preferably good user of SAP- Strong analytical and problem solving skills and meticulous- Mature, proactive, resourceful and hands-on with good initiativeAt Thales we provide CAREERS and not only jobs.
