Skills Requirement Able to demonstrate excellent design ability across all types of buildings and environments.Ability to communicate effectively:Written ? technical and non-technical reports, letters etc.Verbal ? accomplished all round verbal skills, with negotiation and presentation skills ? to Committees, Senior Officers and clients etc.Technology ? capable user of electronic systems (eg e-mail, Word and data systems) including in particular AutoCAD, REVIT and 3D Max rendering packages.Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.Ability to lead by example, manage, motivate and support a team of technical and professional staff.Ability to identify problems, initiate solutions and ensure appropriate action is taken.Ability to represent the Head of Design when necessary at meetings.Ability to use Powerpoint software.Ability to use Adobe InDesign, Photoshop.Knowledge RequirementKnowledge of good design principles and traditional architecture.Well developed knowledge and understanding of building and planning standards and regulations for public and service delivery buildings.Knowledge of Local Government structure, responsibilities and controls.Working knowledge of business planning and programming.Knowledge and commitment to energy conservation, environmental good practice and sustainable construction.Knowledge of the ?Rethinking Construction? Agenda and of construction contracts.Experience RequirementEvidence of experience of design and management of minor and major building works across a wide spectrum of projects.Experience of the management of design teams and briefing of consultants and partners providing related services.Experience of the implementation of sustainable and environmentally friendly initiatives.Experience of implementing feasibilities for property reviews.Experience of using technology to maintain and use information and technical data.Qualification RequirementA full professional and registered qualification in architecture.Sustainable construction qualification is desirable.Other Requirement Ability to be flexible in approach to work and hours, attending evening meetings as required.Applicants must be able to travel to any location and be able to inspect/survey construction sites.
