Job Description

StorytellerBreadcrumbThe purpose of the position of Storyteller is to develop written content for the Universitys external and internal marketing and public relations activities, and to help the CUD brand to define themselves, create and plan business stories, gather information from companies, collaborate with designers to refine stories, and produce content for mediums like websites, blogs, brochures, and newsletters communications support to stakeholders across the University.Job accountabilities linked to objective areas* Ensure content shared on digital channels is optimized to achieve marketing objectives* Generate ideas for content and marketing campaigns* Write and produce quality content, taking into account conventions and limitations of social media platforms* Manage and respond to negative feedback on social media* Liaise with external individuals - in person and online (not students, parents or teachers)* Use content creation and editing software (such as iMovie and Adobe Photoshop/InDesign) to create quality content* Use school CMS to create pages and publish content* Liaise with Graphic Design department to produce marketing collateral* Collect and collate feedback into actionable points* Track analytics to measure effectiveness and efficiency of digital marketing campaigns* Develop and maintain corporate collateral materials (internal communication, draft and edit content, interview students/ faculty when needed etc.)* Develop content for media releases and community newsletters (Write-up all media stories and community news items for external and internal circulation, provide written content for monthly e-newsletter, write and edit the tri-annual Chancellors newsletter).* Sustain an effective and user-focused web presence (Review all text-related web updates to maintain accurate content throughout. Establish and maintain a consistent tone of voice for corporate website).* Provide communication and editorial support to internal stakeholders (Provide guidance on editorial styles and standards. Monitor corporate content to ensure compliance with established styles and tones).* Support communications campaigns (work with marcom team and designers to come up with impactful external campaigns).* Writing and editing articles and success stories, conducting interviews as necessary* Writing, editing, publishing, and promoting messaging and new contentQualifications & Experience* Bachelors Degree in English, marketing, creative writing or communications (or related field)* 3-5 years writing and editing experience* Experience in the UAE or international markets is a plus* Experience of writing for a range of communication outlets (print, web-based etc.)* Exceptional writing, research, and communication skills* Creativity and adaptability* Excellent understanding of social media, content marketing and other digital media skills* Excellent organizational skills ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and under tight deadlines* Understanding of SEO and web traffic metrics* Understanding of Google Apps, Hootsuite & email platforms* Proficient with Wordpress* Proficient in Microsoft Office SuiteKnowledge/skills* Excellent command of the English language* Ability to work independently to strict deadlines* Keen attention to detail* Knowledge of Microsoft Office, internet technologies and CMS principles* Strong planning and organizational skills* Effective multi-tasking and team-working capabilitiesCritical Competencies* Excellent English writing skills* Excellent verbal and written communication skills* Good team playerLanguages* English* Arabic is a plusOther Essential CompetenciesTeam player:A proven commitment to fully participate as a team member, with willingness to support and share ideas and resources with colleagues and pursue team, Department and Institute goals and values.Any other relevant informationIn addition to these key areas of responsibilities, additional duties may be required from time to time.Application Process* Application materials must be submitted via email tocareers@cud.ac.ae* Required materials include: a CV, cover letter, copy of degrees (attested preferred, a research statement, a statement of teaching philosophy, teaching evaluations (if available), reprints or links to reprints for up to three publications and contact information for three references.* Please insert the specialized post name applied for and reference number in the subject line of your email.* You may refer to this link for additional information: * Only those shortlisted will be contacted.* Applications will be received and reviewed until the positions are filled.
