Employment: Full Time Our client, a Dubai based global markets firm, is hiring for a database devops engineer to join their team.This is a priority hire, and preference will be given to candidates who can start at reasonably short notice. Candidates relocating from overseas will be considered, providing that a short notice start date is possible.The Role:-Work alongside an industry leading team of quants, technologists, data scientists, and traders-Take an active role in building a best in class cutting edge global markets firm, based in Dubai-Assume responsibility for architecture and database development activities-Work alongside developers and data scientists to develop and maintain databases for complex data structures REQUIREMENTS: Required experience:-5+ years experience in devops engineering, devops architecture, technical operations, or in developing and maintaining large databases for complex data structures (preferably for financial markets and trading)-Extensive knowledge and hands on experience of MongoDB and Postgres-Experience working with large and complex datasets-Proven software engineering ability-Skilled in code (Python, SQL), to create custom workflows and problem solving-Confident and articulate, able to liaise with senior stakeholders across the business-Problem solver, with a self-starter mindset-Experience working in a developed financial services market (e.g. London/New York/Paris etc)-Preferable but not essential experience working within a global markets firm / financial institution / hedge fund / quant trading house or similar. Understand the high stakes nature of trading and reliability of systems and databases.
