College/Department Profile:The College of the North Atlantic - Qatar is inviting nominations and applications for the position of Wellness Specialist, in the Sport and Wellness Section. Reporting to the Female Sport and Wellness Supervisor, the Wellness Specialist must be a proven leader with the skills and expertise necessary to support the Sport and Wellness Department in fully implementing the College?s mission and vision.College of the North Atlantic - Qatar Profile:The beautiful and culturally progressive State of Qatar is home to a robust TVET higher education institution, College of the North Atlantic ? Since CNA-Q?s inception, the College has graduated thousands of alumni who are proudly contributing to a knowledge-based economy!Duties and Responsibilities:?This position requires an energetic and enthusiastic individual who will research, plan, promote and deliver wellness related services and programs with action plans, budget and expenditure monitoring, according to college?s strategic plan for wellness. The candidate should have an outstanding record of experience in wellness, fitness management or related field and possess the qualifications necessary to be successful in the role of Wellness Specialist.The Candidate will provide supervision of assigned fitness and related activities to ensure the safe and appropriate use of facilities and will promote a positive atmosphere in fitness and wellness related facilities to ensure all visitors feel welcomed and comfortable to meet their health and exercise goals.The successful candidate will develop and organize wellness programing and testing for students, staff and faculty to enhance and promote awareness, education and application to support individual health. As such, this position will be responsible for designing and delivering in-person and/or virtual personal and small group training and fitness class sessions to contribute to a varied wellness and fitness services timetable.The successful candidate will assist in planning campus wellness events in coordination with Sport and Wellness colleagues, student representatives and management, identify, and orchestrate initiatives in support of the wellness strategy.As directed, the successful candidate will participate and serve as a key resource to research efforts, including the discovery, assessment, application, relevance and conclusion phases, that enhance the understanding and direction of campus health and wellness initiatives.The Wellness Specialist will demonstrate and advise on the safe and effective use of equipment through instruction sessions and ensure safety policies and procedures are adhered to by visitors at all times and promote a healthy lifestyle to students, employees and alumni in alignment with department initiatives.The successful candidate will assemble data from a variety of sources for use in assessment and planning of health education and wellness programming. S/he will compile statistical summaries of participant activity data, facility usage and class attendance to ensure proper detailed program evaluation. Further the position will contribute to the collection and evaluation of feedback following all assigned events and activities and use this information to improve quality and participant growth in the future.
