Job purpose: To actively participate in the efficient and safe operation of the Medical Imaging Department, providing a consistent, high-quality service to all patients and visitorsPRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:* Supports the team to deliver care that helps improve the health of the individual and wider community.* Supports the team in demonstrating compassion through effective relationships based on empathy, respect, and dignity.* Delivers effective care and treatments through improving clinical/technical knowledge / skill, and expertise.* Communicates appropriately with others involved in the care of the patient.* Acts as an advocate for safeguarding patients and demonstrates courage to speak up when there are concerns about care.* Demonstrates commitment to improving care and patient experience.* Carries out general and specialised radiographic procedures within their scope of competence as agreed with the Manager - Medical Imaging / Supervisor - Medical Imaging to high technical and quality standards.* Assesses patients & interprets clinical requirements to determine appropriate radiographic techniques.* Undertakes imaging examinations in line with department operational procedures and policies, using techniques that produce the lowest radiation dose to the patient and staff whilst producing high quality, diagnostic images.* Practicesgood radiation, protection and safety and observes local rules and systems of work.* Complies with departmental ALARA and Radiation Safety policies & procedures.* Complies with MRI local rules, policies, and procedures where applicable.* Manages the designated working area and ensures that it is tidy, clean, and efficiently run.* Uses initiative to prioritize, deliver and time-manage workload effectively.* Assists clinical modality, as requested, and leads to plan and maintain an effective workflow within the department.* Completes and maintains applicable departmental records including the completion and submission of patient charges in a timely manner.* Reports all equipment malfunctions or faults to the manager and, if necessary, undertakes any further action to ensure the safe operation of the equipment.* Participates in and contribute to Quality Assurance tests within the Medical Imaging department.* Acts professionally within the standard and framework provided by the QCHP and Elegancia Group.* Maintains active registration with the QCHP.* Updates clinical knowledge and professional development and maintains a professional portfolio in line with QCHP recommendations and requirements.* Participates in the department on-call rota.* Represents the Medical Imaging department, where appropriate (Health & Safety Lead).* Leads on all infection, prevention, and control processes for the Medical Imaging department, where appropriate.* Radiation Safety Officer link person for the department, where appropriate.* Promotes and portrays the Medical Imaging services and the hospital in a positive manner.* Ensures quality services are delivered to both internal & external stakeholders through continuous improvement activities.* Co-operates with modality clinical lead in managing complaints effectively in line with The View Hospital (TVH) and Elegancia Health group policies* Adheres to the TVH policies and procedures relevant to their role.* Demonstrates awareness of regulatory requirements taking appropriate action to ensure these requirements are implemented and adhered to.* Supports TVH Vision, values and behaviorsincorporating these into meaningful personal objectives.* Sets high personal and professional objectives in line with TVH?s code of conduct.* Creates, maintains, and e
