Responsible for compliance of Income Tax Law and related regulations of Qatar for Vodafone Qatar and its subsidiaries (including QFC Regulations) Responsible for the identification and management of tax risks. Accurate and timely deduction and payment of withholding tax (WHT) from supplier payments and the e-filing of related Tax returns Oversight and responsibility for the implementation of any new taxes, such as value added tax (VAT), as well as other changes to the tax laws in Qatar Ensure End-to-End tax compliance of Vodafone Qatar and its subsidiariesAdvice management on optimising the tax position of the Company while in compliance with the applicable tax rulesIdentity tax risks, propose suggested mitigation measures and finally own implementation of controls within the organisationWork closely with finance operations to ensure accurate deduction of WHT from supplier paymentsEnsure timely deposit of WHT to the tax authority and monthly tax filingsEnsure timely furnishing of withholding tax certificates to the vendorsReview of agreements to ensure requisite tax clause are incorporated to safeguard Vodafone interest ensure compliance of Qatar tax laws.Assist with both external and internal tax audits, including collating and preparing the necessary documentation.Prepare and review responses, and where applicable liaise with tax advisors and the tax authority to ensure compliance and process refund claimsEnsure adherence to compliance-related deadlines such as extensions, tax card renewals, tax return filings and other tax related services.Ensure the organisation is up to date on all local tax legislations. Identify and ensure any non-compliance is reported and properly addressed in a timely mannerEnsure proper archiving of tax related documents as per the relevant statute of limitationsSupport with adhoc queries that arise and dealing with tax authority enquiriesOwn tax related balance sheet reconciliations of the GroupSkillsStrong knowledge of Income tax laws and regulations (7+ years)Hands on practice for VAT/ Sales tax, periodic filings, refunds processing and allied mattersExperience and knowledge in accounting concepts and standardsAbility to communicate tax concepts in ways that are meaningful and useful to non-tax professionalsKnowledge of Oracle Financial Management and advanced Excel.Ability to work in high pressure environment and deal with tight deadlines.Good interpersonal and communication skills.
