Job Description

Overview:As a Stock Controller, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of stock management within the store. Your responsibilities will encompass monitoring incoming stock, verifying its accuracy both physically and in the inventory systems, picking and packing customer orders, and ensuring timely fulfillment. Your attention to detail and proactive approach will contribute significantly to maintaining optimal stock levels and providing exceptional customer service.Key Responsibilities:Stock Monitoring:. Receive and unpack incoming stock shipments.. Inspect and verify the received stock against purchase orders and packing slips.. Ensure the accuracy of stock quantities and quality of merchandise.. Identify and report any discrepancies or damages promptly.. Organize stock in designated storage areas for easy access and retrieval.Inventory Management:. Utilize inventory management software/systems to record and track stock movements.. Update inventory records with received stock quantities, SKU numbers, and other relevant information.. Conduct regular stock audits to reconcile physical stock counts with system records.. Generate reports on stock levels, trends, and discrepancies for management review.. Implement measures to prevent stock shortages and excess inventory.Order Fulfillment:. Receive and process customer orders through the designated system.. Locate requested items within the store inventory accurately and efficiently.. Pick the required items from the store inventory with attention to detail and accuracy.. Pack items securely and prepare them for shipment or customer pickup.. Coordinate with other departments, such as shipping or customer service, to ensure timely order delivery.. Maintain clear communication with customers regarding order status and any potential delays.Quality Assurance:. Uphold high standards of product quality and presentation.. Conduct regular checks to ensure stock is properly stored, labeled, and rotated.. Monitor expiration dates for perishable items and take appropriate actions to prevent waste.. Implement best practices for product handling and storage to minimize damage and spoilage.Team Collaboration:. Collaborate with other team members, including store managers, sales associates, and warehouse staff, to streamline stock management processes.. Communicate effectively with colleagues to resolve any issues or concerns related to stock availability or order fulfillment.. Provide support and assistance during peak periods or special promotions/events as needed.Qualifications and Skills:. High school diploma or equivalent additional education or certification in inventory management or related field is a plus.. Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a retail or warehouse environment.. Proficiency in using inventory management software/systems familiarity with barcode scanners and handheld devices.. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling stock records and orders.. Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting with colleagues and customers.. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment..
