Position Summary:??The main purpose of this position will be to assist in the provision of high quality advice that is consistent, relevant and timely, and support to senior management to meet the objectives of the Department.?You will work closely with managers in delivering policy advice, decision support and service outcomes to the Government of Qatar.?Nature and Scope of Position:?The Senior Medical Coding Specialist will be accountable to the Head of the ???????.. for ensuring that the following outcomes are achieved:????????? Co-ordinate and contribute to the development, implementation and review/evaluation of patient and casemix classification systems in Qatar and performance measurement policies within Qatar;???????? Assist in the development and monitoring of health information coding requirements and standards for Qatar and undertake reviews of data quality;???????? Continuous review and management of the Minimum Data Set (MDS);???????? Review and provide advice to the senior management on the appropriateness of the clinical documentation process and audit;???????? Assist in the development of casemix funding rules for use in hospitals and outpatient reimbursement.???????? Analyse and report on activity data trends and benchmark comparisons in relation to identified key performance measures???????? Develop and maintain effective relationships and communications with senior health system staff and key external stakeholders to facilitate liaison, consultation and negotiation of casemix costing and funding strategies???????? Assist product costing and cost/service weight development.???????? Initiate, manage and maintain the data collection portal to ensure that adequate casemix information is available for funding, performance and planning of services.???????? Work with IT Department aiming in appropriate maintenance of the software (Grouper) installation, maintenance and use???????? Evaluate the integrity of information collected through various sources to advise the HFID on the value of its use;???????? Support education and training initiatives in the Health Information Management field in the State of Qatar;???????? Assist in the preparation briefings, correspondence, speech notes and discussion papers as required???????? Support relevant Committees (e.g. National Clinical Coding Committee), including undertaking research, data analysis and literature reviews, and preparing and distributing discussion papers to ensure that committees are proactive, efficient and effective?General?
