Job Description

Overview / ResponsibilitiesWood has an opportunity for a Site Civil Supervisor to join our team in Qatar on a long term-based contract. This is a key role within the Wood Doha office delivering across study, FEED, EPC and PMC scopes of work. In this role, you will be responsible for the execution of project work in accordance with the project execution plan, including Wood and/or Project Procedures on Safety and Quality Control within the man-hour, cost and the project schedule targets.Reflecting the market focus for the office in both brownfield and greenfield opportunities, multi-skilled personnel are sought, in particular those with experience in:

  • Onshore Oil and Gas
  • Offshore Oil and Gas
Key Responsibilities:. Participate in and supervise all civil construction subcontractor activities and initiatives.
  • Responsible for the civil scope of subcontractor to ensure the Subcontractor perform the work to agreed scope of work, specifications and schedules all to an acceptable standard
  • Supervise the subcontractor personnel to ensure they perform all work to agreed standards for safety, health and environment and to attaining high levels of HSE performance
  • Ensure assigned scope of work is carried out without any significant HSE incidents
  • Ensure the work is carried out in time and in accordance with scope of work, specification and quality requirement
  • Champion HSE and ensure that all Project HSE requirements are implemented and adhered to
  • Responsible for subcontractors supervision in respect of HSE, method, working practices, quality and timely execution of the works
  • Advise on best practices
  • Responsible for subcontractors Risk Management to ensure all risks / opportunities are identified and appropriate controls/mitigations developed and implemented
  • Responsible for coordination with regard to SIMOPS
  • Ensure that construction hazards and risks are fully considered by subcontractors and that appropriate mitigation actions are implemented and appropriate action taken
  • To be fully familiar with the subcontractors methods of construction, schedule and procedure
  • Initiate and manage continuous improvement processes
  • Monitor site activities for potential contractual / claims problems
  • Maintain records of site activities and check subcontractor records for accuracy
  • Carry out inspection, surveillance witnessing of subcontractor activities, ensuring records are maintained, including as-built data
  • Endorse daily progress report
  • Detailing the work progress, number of subcontractor personnel and equipment available on site and other related items identified in the scope of work
Qualifications/Skills.
  • Diploma, HND, HNC or equivalent
  • Minimum of 10 years post graduate experience in the Oil and Gas industry
  • Good HSE awareness and commitment
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Good technical, team and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lead a construction team safely across multiple work fronts, demonstrating agile techniques for planning the work
  • Ability to lead a diverse multidiscipline team
  • Ability to make independent decisions in the planning, organizing and coordinating to develop solutions to complex problems
  • Experience with contractors, in particular those involved in Oil and Gas facilities
Mandatory requirements:
  • Experience with Geotechnical and Topographical investigation such as trial pit/slit trenches, boreholes and underground scanning
  • Familiar with QatarEnergy permit to work and construction standards
  • Familiar with Qatar Construction Specifications as relevant to construction
  • Familiar with QatarEnergy HSE Regulations for Contractors
  • Familiar with and having had direct experience supervising work at Mesaieed / Dukhan / Ras Laffan and Halul facilities
  • Proven record of successful delivery of similar work activities
  • Experienced in conducting/leading daily tool box talks and start-ups for planning the teams daily work
