Our client, a major operator in Qatar, requires a Senior Logistics Coordinator to join on a 3 year contract in Qatar.Located in Onshore Doha Offices for a period of about 12 to 18 months. The position will then relocate permanently to Ras Laffan Site to interface and coordinate with RLC and Port Authorities and EPC Contractors? logistic teams.The position is responsible for all Logistics activities pertaining to the scope of the major onshore project from movement of materials and equipment to directing preparation of transport and logistics policies, procedures and manuals to ensure that activities in support of project operations are consistent and in-line with QG and RLIC logistics policies.The main accountabilities are:? Interact daily with Logistics Division Manager and Procurement personnel (EPC and Pioneer Camp) and counterparts from the EPC Contractors? Procurement and Logistics departments.? Close coordination and interaction with Port Authorities at Ras Laffan Port, Hamad Marine Port, Mesaieed Marine Port, Hamad International Airport and Road Transport Authorities.? Close coordination and interaction with the Major Onshore Project Head of Planning and Planning and Scheduling Specialist(s) in order to keep control on the schedule and key Project and Progress Milestones.? Responsible for supporting the EPC Contractors in logistic movements onshore within Ras Laffan City for personnel and material movements and logistics required to support construction camp operations.Suitable candidates will have a Bachelor?s Degree in Science/ Commerce or equivalent with a minimum of fifteen (10) years in Project Execution, with a strong background in Logistics, Transportation, Procurement, and management of large Logistics activities.? Knowledge of and proficiency in the techniques of identifying, analysing, and resolving transportation and logistics problems.? Demonstrates sound written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate at all organizational levels, in particular when at Site.? Experience with major and first tier EPC Contractors, Sub-contractors and Vendors involved in the oil and gas industry.? Demonstrate ability and sensitivity to work with people from a variety of cultural backgrounds.? Experience with large complex projects
