Job Description

Job Overview:Civil/structural design and analysis of assigned deliverables in a McDermott project including specific complex deliverables such as piperacks ,tanks, structures, modules, foundations, paving, buildings ,control room, substation, compressor / dynamic foundations, equipment foundations ,drainage and roads. Have vast exposure to design of offshore structures viz. jackets, fixed and floating platforms, FPSO. Expert on SACS software, shall be an added advantage. exposure to various international codes viz American, Russian, European etc.Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Conceptual studies, cost and planning studies, layouts, design calculations, specification development and construction documents.
  • Is able to effectively communicate technical solutions and concepts to other engineers and non-engineers.
  • Mentors junior Civil/Structural Engineers and depending on size and complexity of scope of work may be assigned as the Civil/Structural Engineering Lead for a project.
  • Maintains and promotes a focus on McDermott?s end product whether engineering, fabrication or construction.
  • Ensures effective communications among other engineering disciplines. Ensures effective management of change.
  • Assumes responsibility for cost, schedule, quantity, and budget control.
  • Support Lead , as required
Essential Qualifications and Education:
  • Accredited engineering degree as may be required by specific regions.
  • Prefer BSCE degree and prefer EIT or PE certificate of registration.
  • Typically has over 25 years of detail civil engineering experience:
Preferred Qualifications and Education:
  • Familiar with codes and standards of ACI, AISC and ASCE or other international codesand is generally current on latest scientific and engineering methods.
  • Possesses a technical knowledge of the detail design engineering process.
  • 20 year experince in offshore strucutral engineerings
  • Well conversant with API RP2A, AISC
  • Software :SACs, UNFOS
  • Well conversant specification
  • US: ABET Engineering Degree.
