Job Description

Purpose:Picture Editor is responsible to Assembling all raw footage with camera shots either recorded or transferred packages to live, oversee the quality of progress and quality control of the project to the Alaraby TV standards.Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assembling all raw footage with camera shots either recorded or transferred onto video tape in preparation for inputting the computer
  • Inputting uncut rushes and sound, and synchronizing and storing them into files on the computer
  • Digitally cutting the files to put together the sequence of the film and deciding what is usable
  • Creating an or assembly edit of the programme / film and determining the exact cutting for the next and final stages
  • Reordering and tweaking the content to ensure the logical sequencing and smooth running of the film/video
  • Overseeing the quality and progress of audio and video engineering and editing
  • Quality control the final product before broadcasting to reflect Alaraby TV policies and approaches.
  • Reporting on and monitoring quality assurance of sites.
  • Meeting the OFCOM standards.
  • Understand our technical standards
  • Understands & meets channels broadcast & audio/video standards
  • Ability to perform under pressure in a Live news environment
