Job Description

Operations˙

  • Assist the Offset Pressman in preparing, operating and maintaining the presses:
  1. Assist in the installation of the printing plate with the images to be printed and adjusts the pressure at which the machine prints.
  2. loads paper and adjust the press to the paper size.
  3. Feeds paper through the press cylinders and adjust feed and tension controls.
  4. Fills ink and dampening solution fountains of press.
  • Adjust press machine parts as directed by Offset Pressman
  • Reads and understand job orders.
  • Assist in loading plates.
  • Regularly inspect press machine for any malfunctions. Notify Offset Pressman when malfunction occurs.
  • Assists OFFSET-PRESS OPERATOR to remove and replace worn rollers and adjust pressure between rollers of the machine.
  • Cleans press and press areas.
  • Assists operator with jobs, shift and weekly clean-up.
  • ˙Return unused supplies to storekeeper.
  • Other duties assigned by OFFSET Press Operator
