Job Description

About the role:Develop IT strategy, plan, implement, maintain and manage Data Centre, Server and Storage Systems and technologies that enable all IT services required for reliable and safe operations at HIA. To secure the Server and Storage infrastructure including Data against internal and external malicious threats and attacks. Oversee the architecture, design, capacity management and supplier management of Server and Storage infrastructure to meet the current business needs and future growth of the airport. Ensure the highest possible availability of the Server and Storage infrastructure through redundant architecture and design, while optimizing the costs through standardization, building scalability and optimal usage.Key responsibilities

• Develop the medium to long term IT strategy for the Server and Storage technologies at HIA, which include: Cloud (Public, Private and Hybrid), virtualization, Server hardware with Operating system, SAN Storage, Backup & Recovery etc.
• Accountable for research on emerging industry trends and technologies for Server, Storage and Data protection, and to recommend proposals for their application at MATAR to achieve tangible benefits, improve passenger experience and safeguard companys information assets and IT infrastructure.
• Managing the professionals: System Administration, operations, documentation, maintenance and support of IT systems managed by MATAR-IT; and ensuring restricted access to the production environments of these systems in compliance with established ID and Access Management policies.
• Set clear and consistent performance objectives on Servers and Storage technologies, implementing performance management and development plans to ensure standards of performance and productivity are achieved and maintained enabling a high-performance culture.
• Provide flexible Recovery Point Objective (RPO) and define steps to meet faster Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) with the implementation of effective Continuous Data Protection Capabilities so that the companys vital data is safeguarded.
• Provide technical consultancy and guidance to the team members and other technical teams. Overall responsibility for maintaining the relationship with external suppliers. Also, responsibility for ensuring optimized usage of licenses, contract ownership of the data center technologies and life cycle management of the systems.
• Based on analysed trends, ensure that necessary steps to update the design and upgrade of infrastructure are taken prior to any negative impact on service availability and performance.
• Develop deployment standards based on the Tiering of the applications. Review existing and new application architecture and ensure that the applications are deployed as per the tier standards
• Accountable for hardening and optimal performance of the IT systems managed by MATAR-IT by ensuring all security and other operating system patches, supplier provided latest software/firmware versions/patches are promptly identified, reviewed and assessed for their impact on the relevant environment and are fully tested and implemented where needed
• Ensure IT processes and procedures are documented, implemented and followed in line with all corporate IT policies and ISO 20000 & ISO 27001 standards for MATAR IT Services.
• Manages the lifecycle of the IT systems managed by MATAR-IT; their availability through redundancy and resilience; compliance with applicable local and international regulations; and capacity management.
• Ensures contract ownership and execution; and maintaining professional relationship with external suppliers for assigned IT systems and services; and to ensure optimized usage of licenses.
• Prepares Annual budget for assigned IT Systems and services based on business and operational requirements capacity planning, adoption of new technology and addressing obsolescence.
• Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.
