Job Description

Lead of SHES Training Job Purpose

  • This role provides direction, guidance and leadership to NFS Onshore PMT as well as to the EPC CONTRACTORS on all SHES and Craft Training related matters and provides oversight of the execution of the EPC CONTRACTOR?s Craft Training program.
  • Supports EPC CONTRACTORS in the development, implementation, execution, performance evaluation and measuring, and continual improvement of the SHES and Craft Training Program (theory and practical).
  • Provides direct assistance and support to the NFS Onshore PMT Site Manager in championing the Project?s SHES and Craft training and Craft competency Program and reports relevant performance metrics and recommendations for improvement on regular basis to ensure that the Site Manager can effectively champion the Craft Training program.
Job Context & Major Challenge(s)The role is a key position, having a significant impact on the success of the NFS Onshore SHES and craft training and competency program by driving the program elements at Management, Supervisor and craft level.This position is involved in the management of the craft training related tools and techniques (theory and practical) throughout the project duration and collaborates with relevant PMT and CONTRACTOR personnel.This role has key responsibilities for measure the SHES and craft training and competency across all project packages in order to identify possible Craft competency deficiencies early and recommend improvement actions.The position oversees craft training and craft competency activities of assigned CONTRACTOR teams and supports CONTRACTOR Craft Supervisors in developing solutions to ineffective SHES and craft training and craft competency.Qualifications
  • Graduate level University degree in a technical discipline, e.g. civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, etc.; or 15 years hands on experience working on major projects with involvement in craft training.
  • International recognized Train the Trainer Certificate.
Knowledge and/or Experience
  • Minimum of ten (10) years industry relevant experience in a technical discipline with clear understanding of craft competency requirements.
  • Development of craft training programs, tools and techniques.
  • Experience in craft training competency assessments.
  • International project experience with Tier-1 EPC Contractors or Client, involved in the construction of onshore production facilities (i.e., greenfield and brownfield scope).
  • Sound knowledge of the project execution process in large-scale project environments (expenditure >US$ 1 Bn).
Technical and Business Skills
  • Leadership skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written English skills; confident and clear presentation development and delivery.
  • Able to cope with excessive workload.
  • Be inventive to bring new ideas, methods and procedures to meet Project craft training objectives.
  • Strong teamwork, facilitation, with the ability to communicate and interact at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work with diverse cultures to obtain a world-class SHES performance.
  • Creates high quality and accurate output in a timely manner.
  • Team player who can effectively collaborate within Project Teams and with external parties.
  • Able to identify and analyse complex issues and provide recommendations.
  • Establishes and sustains credibility with peers, subordinates and supervisors.
  • Takes responsibility for own work products and can perform at high level without supervision.
  • Computer literate, familiar working with Microsoft office applications.
