Our client, major LNG Operator in Qatar, is hiring for Lead of Piping Engineering to work for Multi-Billion LNG expansion project. This is a contract and residential role to be based in Qatar.Job Purpose:Responsible for overseeing NFS Onplot EPC Contractor in delivery of all aspects of Piping design, equipment, materials, technical and execution definition, including planning and execution of detailed design, procurement, installation, testing and commissioning. Ensures technical requirements (e.g., project specifications, data sheets etc.) developed and implemented during EPC, fully comply with project requirements and through effective collaboration and interfaces ensures process design considers for full production life cycle.Reporting and Relationships:Reports to Head of Piping Engineering North Field South (NFS) Onshore.InternalRegular interface and collaboration with Head of Piping, Head Electrical, Process, Main I&C, Machinery, Mechanical and Civil/Structural Engineers, Head Loss Prevention, Operations Advisor, Engineering Advisors and Facility Engineer in NFE Onshore organisation.Frequent contact with Operations, SHES, Quality and Engineering departments in QG.ExternalContinuous interaction with EPC Contractor, vendors and subcontractors.Occasional engagement with Shareholder representatives.Job Context & Major Challenge(s) During EPC execution the position is responsible for verifying the design and implementation of piping deliverables including large pipe sizes, large valves (e.g., control, motor operated, pressure relief, manual), cryogenic systems, high pressure steam and high-pressure sour gas services including approvals of piping stress calculations and design of piping shoes, pipe hangers and weld joint design, G&A, plant lay-out and 3D model.Major challenges for this role are (1) effectively managing EPC Contractor and Piping Engineering team to deliver technical input in accordance with project requirements from contract award until Project execution; (2) maintaining constructive working relationships with EPC Contractor, its subcontractors and vendors to ensure delivery of work scope in accordance with project requirements and (3) maintaining relationships with stakeholders (e.g. Operations and SHE and Quality) to ensure alignment of Piping Engineering deliverables.Key Job Accountabilities:

• Provide Piping Engineering knowledge, design, quality assurance and expertise while managing the Piping team in accordance with project deliverables and execution schedule.
• Direct the preparation and stewardship of Piping Engineering scope of work in EPC contract, advise and recommend design procedures, processes, deliverables and alternative studies, as required, to optimise project cost and schedule.
• Interact with Engineering Team to complete multi-discipline engineering activities, ensuring alignment with the Head of Piping on project engineering needs, objectives, and requirements.
• Accountable for ensuring execution of work is technically aligned and in compliance with Company Operations, Policies, Standards of Business Conduct and Project Management System (PMS).
• Manage EPC Contractors Piping Engineering activities including validation of personnel numbers, qualifications and experience; usage of appropriate design tools, including computer hardware and software; adherence with all project objectives, requirements, specifications, standards, procedures, execution plans and design verification processes.
• Assess and validate EPC Contractor capability in providing all contract documents, progress measurement and reporting, and recommends additional technical support to address gaps.
• Manage the technical attachments and scope descriptions for relevant contracts including the timely delivery of all purchase orders.
• Responsible for the Piping Engineering schedule and related milestones, provide data (narrative, charts, graphs, change management recommendations and recovery plans to address any schedule delays) for monthly progress and stewardship reporting.
• Develop, review and amend various policies and procedures to ensure that all Piping engineering references are up to date and relevant.

Minimum RequirementsQualificationsBachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering discipline or equivalent.Knowledge and/or Experience12 years of experience at a senior Piping Engineering supervisory level with a broad knowledge of engineering execution including design standards, specifications, codes, safety criteria, onshore LNG facilities design, construction and operations. Experience with cryogenic piping systems design.Technical and Business Skills
